About us

Our Passion is to deliver relevant information and connect advocates to the right business for the right service at the right time while safeguarding the dignity of the aged. Our Mission is to leverage technology and community resources to inform families, reduce emotional barriers and ease the process of rightsizing in order to build better relationships and reduce tension while aging. Parent Projects™ is a membership platform that leverages technology to help businesses connect with family and friends who are advocating on behalf of a senior citizen facing the challenges of aging. We “verify” businesses with our SeniorMoves Verified Business Network for senior-safe practices and guide families through complicated emotional projects. We connect the two at just the right time; From downsizing Dad, to dealing with the impacts of distance, divorce, disability, or a death on an aging family member; Parent Projects™ helps members advocate for the aged. *SeniorMoves™ is an authorized trade name of Parent Projects LLC, a privately-held technology firm serving Arizona in accordance with the principles established by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Have you considered recording the story for keepsakes? ———— One of my favorite questions from this featured article by Will Seippel of WorthPoint is: “Have you written the provenances down?” Giving the amount of “stuff” we accumulate in our lives and its natural impact on where and how we live as we age, building a healthier relationship with it seems pretty darn important. We’re not going to pontificate on why one should become a minimalist here, but a lighter load does seem to offer freedom to the aged. Something else that helps, knowing the story behind what you have. In 2023 we interviewed Matt Paxton, American downsizing expert and host of the T.V. shows Hoarders and Legacy List, to talk about this phenomena. Matt explained an emotional and psychological connection to sharing the story of stuff. He recommended giving your parents a deliberate task and time for explaining the history of 4-5 items in their home during a family gathering with the item being passed around. Like “show and tell” the empowering nature of being heard can build rapport, emotional credibility and help us “let go“ of trivial items whose value may have come and gone from our lives. Overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in your parents home and hoping to see them find the next home for it? Perhaps ask your parents to select a couple of items and find time this Thanksgiving to sit down as a family and listen to the provenance story that comes out. It may be just what your loved one needs take advantage of these trends and age well!
The process of relocating, whether for oneself or elderly parents, often leads to the daunting question of what to do with a lifetime of possessions. This overlooked yet crucial topic sparks various trends and discussions within the community. To explore further, you can find insightful trends on this matter at https://lnkd.in/e3bnC_GB.

When Is It Time to Stop Driving as We Age? Deciding when it’s time for a senior to stop driving is a challenging and emotional decision for families. Driving represents independence for many older adults, making the conversation about giving up the keys particularly sensitive. By 2030, over 70 million people aged 65 and older will be on the roads, with 85-90% of them licensed to drive. However, studies show that seniors face increased risks on the road due to age-related changes, such as slower reaction times and diminished vision. For families, noticing these challenges and having a caring conversation about other ways to get around can help seniors stay independent and safe. If you're facing this decision, check out this resource from AAA on senior driving and safety here 👉 https://zurl.co/OrUJ #senior #agingparents #seniorcare #seniorliving #driving
