We’re thrilled to share that Maeve O'Meara has been appointed CEO of ParetoHealth! Maeve joined ParetoHealth as President in September 2023. Andrew Cavenagh will serve as Executive Chairman, partner closely with Maeve and continue to stay deeply engaged with the Pareto community. Maeve brings 20+ years of experience in healthcare and technology to build on Pareto’s momentum in driving access to affordable and improved health benefits for small and medium businesses. We’re excited for this next chapter under Maeve’s leadership on the right side of the fight for consultants and midsize employers to eliminate volatility and lower healthcare costs. Prior to ParetoHealth, Maeve was CEO of Castlight Health, a leader in health navigation. She led the transformation of Castlight and drove the company’s combination with Vera Whole Health to create Apree Health in 2022. Previously, Maeve was an investor at Highland Capital Partners where she helped incubate and launch Generation Health (acquired by CVS Caremark). Maeve began her career at Bain & Company. Why did you join ParetoHealth? I posed that question to my colleague Kristen Rivers for a recent sit down. I knew why I joined, and I wanted to hear her reasoning as well. For those of you that know her, Kristen is one of the most talented voices in our industry, and she could write her own ticket anywhere. But she chose Pareto, just like I did, because she wanted to be on the right side of the fight helping mid-sized employers solve major healthcare, and business, issues. Though self-funding through a captive won't make sense to every employer, it will help remove some of the major impediments to being self-insured on your own. And it certainly eliminates many of the constraints imposed on businesses who are fully insured.
