There’s a lot of talk around automation & the use of AI being able to replace project managers, but don’t be nervous - that totally isn’t the case. While AI can produce guidance for decision making, planning, obstacle removal, & more, it’s up to the project manager to interpret this guidance with their experiences, understanding of the organization’s culture, etc. AI is as good as the inputs. Automation can be leveraged to cut down on manual inputs and cross- tool data points & information. Leveraging it can provide more time for the project manager to see real progress, follow up on missed opportunities and tasks, and better understand the big picture without having to manually hop between tools to get information, notify individuals, etc. While both automation & the use of AI are very powerful, the project manager’s skillset, level of emotional intelligence, and experience can’t be replaced by them.
