Alix came to PAWS Atlanta after a chemical fire forced Rockdale County Animal Services to shut down their shelter. We were grateful to save 14 dogs from this disaster, but the cost associated with adding to the PAWS Atlanta family was unexpected. No matter how much we plan, rescue is unpredictable. Our cats and dogs need care 365 days a year. On weekends, on Thanksgiving Day, on Christmas, and at 2 o'clock in the morning, animals arrive at PAWS, some in dire condition. During this season of giving, will you help animals like Alix? They need you every day, in every season. Give now and your gift will be doubled up to $40k! Help twice as many animals, and ensure our team is prepared for all the unpredictable things to come in 2025. ➡️ Donate now: https://buff.ly/3SnkHrp

We had a great time with this group from The Zagoria Law Firm, LLC last week. They helped our staff dry our large dog kennels and sorted incoming donations to keep the shelter looking great. They also helped us prepare for our Wags N' Walks program, so some of our pups could meet members of the community and find potential adopters! And, of course, they got to spend some time with our sweetest pittie girl, Jade, who was on her best behavior, as always 🥰 She especially loves photo time! We would love for your group to volunteer with us too. Reach out to Sam at slong@pawsatlanta.org to schedule your group for 2025!

Thank you to RTS Carrier Services for volunteering with us this week! They unloaded a bunch of new donations from our van, removed large branches from around the facility, and cleaned up piles of leaves from our trails. They were a huge help to our staff! If you would like to volunteer with your group and spend some time with our animals, reach out to Sam at slong@pawsatlanta.org. We're already scheduling for 2025!

Thank you to Alliance Marketing Partners for volunteering with us! They accomplished so much at the shelter. They dried our large dog kennels, loaded up crates for our partner shelter, and helped us prepare for our Wags N Walks program by loading supplies in our van. They also, of course, got to spend time with some of our animals 🥰 If you would like to volunteer with your group, we would love to have you! Reach out to Sam at slong@pawsatlanta.org to get on our calendar for 2025.

Our animals are family. No matter what, they get the care they need everyday. But, ultimately, we want them to find a family outside of PAWS - a home where they can cuddle up on the couch, curl up with their adopters, and get all the love they deserve. Our cats and dogs need your help, 365 days a year. This season of giving, will you help us care for our animals, every day, in every season? ✨Toe Beans✨ used to be a community cat, roaming the streets of a nearby neighborhood. When he was injured in a fight, one of our staff members took him and soon discovered that he was an indoor cat at heart. After only a day in their spare bathroom, he was rolling on his back for belly rubs! 🥰 Once he was healed up, we brought him to PAWS Atlanta to find the home he so badly wanted. Upon intake, we found out that he was FIV positive, and while FIV is a condition many cats live long and happy lives with, it can often be a barrier to adoption. But Toe Beans found a home after only a couple months at the shelter!👏 His mom was looking for an adult cat who would snuggle with her, and when she met Toe Beans and his reached out his paw to her, she said, "This is my cat." She took him home that day! Unfortunately, though, this isn't where Toe Beans' story ends. A year later, we were notified that Toe Beans' mom had passed away. Her family generously asked for donations to PAWS Atlanta in her memory because of how much he meant to her. However, no family members were able to care for Toe Beans. So, Toe Beans came back to the shelter for a second time. He had gotten a little chunky, and we were happy to see it. He had clearly been spoiled in his adoptive home, and we were determined to find him a home just as wonderful. He had also become even more affectionate, and we knew that someone would fall in love with him soon. In the Cat Cottage, he got comfortable in our FIV-only room, and even made a fellow feline friend. Only a few weeks after Toe Beans returned to PAWS Atlanta, he found a new home! Even better - he was adopted along with his new best friend from the Cat Cottage! 🎉🎉 While his story has many ups and downs, his happily-ever-after is possible because of supporters like you. Every day, new animals arrive at PAWS Atlanta, needing second and sometimes third chances, like Toe Beans. When you give, you make it possible for us to care for our animals ➡️ 365 days a year, no matter what. ❤️ As 2024 draws to a close, will you help us prepare for 2025? Every day, in every season, we need your generosity. Give now: https://buff.ly/3hMeJk9
