We're closing out Veterans Month with a final Military Employee Spotlight: Jeremy Bayone! Jeremy served on active duty in the United States Army from September 2001 to May 2005. Following his initial training, he was assigned to the 35th Signal Brigade at Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) as a multi-channel transmissions system operator/maintainer. During his military service, he participated in both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Notably, he served alongside Michael Jordan's brother, who held the position of Command Sergeant Major. Mr. Bayone's military career was unfortunately cut short due to an injury sustained during a nighttime airborne training exercise, resulting in a medical discharge. In 2018, Mr. Bayone joined Pearce Services as a Microwave/RF Field Technician. His extensive military training and experience, including six months of classroom and hands-on instruction for his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), professional leadership development courses, and various other duties and tasks, proved highly relevant to his role at Pearce Services. The presence of fellow veterans within the company fostered a supportive environment for communication and the exchange of ideas, while also providing a sense of confidence and shared understanding. Mr. Bayone has since transitioned to the Renewables division within Pearce where he continues to uphold the values instilled during his military service. In honor of Veterans Day, Pearce is highlighting our incredible service member employees all month long! Today's Veteran Employee Spotlight is Caleb Melies! Caleb served in the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2010 as a Scout with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance. He has been at Pearce Services going on three years and currently works as the Sr. Manager for GIS. The GIS team supports almost all aspects of the business, both on the Services and Renewables side, by providing GIS tools and services that aid in projects daily work. In honor of Veterans Day, Pearce is highlighting our incredible service member employees all month long! Today's Veteran Employee Spotlight is Paul Duncan! Paul served as an active duty Generator Mechanic (52 Delta) from 2000 to 2004 and says those years shaped who he is today, both personally and professionally. During Paul's service, he deployed to Iraq from 2003 to 2004, and he and his wife even spent their honeymoon there! Despite the challenges, Paul's time in Iraq was invaluable for him in learning his trade, building lifelong friendships, and developing a strong sense of brotherhood with his fellow soldiers. As a Generator Mechanic, Paul was responsible for maintaining critical power systems which were essential to operations during both exercises and deployments. After leaving the Army in 2004 with an honorable discharge, Paul continued his work as a generator mechanic in the civilian world. He spent another five years as a contractor, redeploying to Iraq in 2008 and working in places like Baghdad. Paul has been working in his trade for almost 27 years now, and says he still love what he does! He takes great pride in his work with Pearce Renewables, and feels fortunate to be part of this team!
