This week, we're excited to spotlight Vox™—our cutting-edge sound level monitoring sensor! Vox™ continuously measures sound pressure levels (SPL) to determine the acoustic noise level in any room. It logs these levels every 10 minutes or triggers an alert when the noise exceeds a configurable threshold, such as a 75dB smoke alarm. Did you know that mold can grow in as little as 24 hours? The only things that it needs to survive are oxygen, water, and organic matter… which can easily be found near most water leaks! Not all mold is toxic, but there are several kinds that can be (we’re looking at you black mold!). Perceptive Things™ is proud to have detected over 3,000 water leaks to date! 10/29: Gallons of Water Can you imagine your house flooding with over 250 gallons of water? We recently read this post from the Detroit Free Press that claims that this much water can come out in just ONE day from a leak that is an eighth of an inch big! Our guess is that the repair costs for this kind of leak would measure well past the annual average of $350!
