🌟 Exciting First Step in My PhD Journey! 🌟 This week, I am thrilled to attend the 34th 𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐒 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 in Tirrenia (Pisa, Italy) as part of my first experience as a PhD student in the National Programme in Artificial Intelligence. During the poster session, I'll have the opportunity to present my research, which explores the feasibility of using 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 techniques to achieve 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲/𝐑𝐁𝐃 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 based solely on 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐇𝐑𝐕) metrics. 🔍 I am deeply grateful to my supervisor, Prof. Gabriella Olmo, and to Irene Rechichi, who led me to this fascinating research field, for their invaluable guidance and support. 🏆 Irene Rechichi defended her PhD thesis at PhD Computer and Control Engineering - DAUIN Politecnico di Torino in July 2024. 🛌 She is co-author of the chapter 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑹𝑬𝑴 𝑺𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 in the recently published 𝓗𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓫𝓸𝓸𝓴 𝓸𝓯 𝓐𝓘 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓓𝓪𝓽𝓪 𝓢𝓬𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓼 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓢𝓵𝓮𝓮𝓹 𝓓𝓲𝓼𝓸𝓻𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓼. 📖 The chapter discusses the application of machine and deep learning models for the automatic detection of Rapid Eye Movement sleep behavior disorder (RBD).
