BREAKING: One person prosthetic tech startup, launched this year, picks up a commitment from Missouri Technology Corporation for up to $50k. https://lnkd.in/gvUkX62r Lili Hostetler
Phoenix is a prosthetic with interchangeable parts designed for easy adjustment and customization using household tools. This innovation both reduces repair costs and enhances patient flexibility. Using a blend of 3D printing and traditional manufacturing techniques, Phoenix significantly lowers initial expenses, making advanced prosthetics more accessible to all. Phoenix also offers a unique service model that includes telehealth visits to enable user repairs, thus eliminating the need for multiple appointments and lengthy insurance approvals typical in traditional prosthetic care. Patients undergo an initial fitting with a local prosthetist, returning weeks later to receive their custom unit. A $50/month subscription covers ongoing maintenance, facilitating quick online appointments, virtual prosthetist consultations, and direct delivery of replacement parts to the user. This not only eliminates pricing uncertainties and appointment delays but also prioritizes patient convenience and comfort, ensuring a precise and comfortable lifetime fit at an affordable cost.
