Only one week remains until Giving Tuesday! Our last spotlight is Jake's Help From Heaven, whose mission is to support individuals with multiple medical challenges and disabilities. Their dedication to providing solutions to those with complex medical needs is inspiring! Thanks to last year’s $5,000 Pioneers with Purpose grant, Jake’s Help From Heaven provided life-changing support to families by purchasing mobility equipment and iPads for nonverbal children. One of our employees was inspired to apply for the grant after the organization helped her granddaughter, Ava, who lives with Spina Bifida, by covering medical equipment and travel expenses for hospital visits. Pioneer is proud to have partnered with Jake’s Help From Heaven to make a difference for Ava and countless other families across the Capital Region. This weekend, our incredible employees braved the icy waters of Lake George for the Polar Plunge, raising over $5,000 to support Special Olympics New York! Pioneer is also proud to sponsor Special Olympics Unified Sports, which brings individuals with and without intellectual disabilities together for team training and competition. Altogether, we’re thrilled to commit $20,000 to this amazing organization, championing inclusion, teamwork, and opportunity. Our Customer Care Center, our offices, and all of our branches will be closed Thursday, November 28th in observance of Thanksgiving Day. We will be open with our normal business hours Friday, November 29th.

"Children [took] part in a University at Albany Lego challenge event Monday [November 11th]. The event, for ages 5 to 10, was held by the University at Albany's College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security, and Cybersecurity in partnership with Pioneer."

As we approach Giving Tuesday, we’d like to recognize another amazing organization making a difference - Sleep in Heavenly Peace - Mechanicville. Their incredible work ensures that children have beds to sleep in, which is crucial to their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. With last year’s $5,000 Pioneers with Purpose Grant, they purchased materials to build more beds for children in need. Our journey with them didn't stop there, however. Our partnership grew to include a giving drive, a full volunteer day where Pioneer employees hand-built 38 beds in our HQ parking lot, and the heartwarming experience of delivering those beds to local children. #AllTogetherForward

We’re counting down to Giving Tuesday with another incredible organization! This week, we’re shining a spotlight on Ravena Innovation Station, whose mission is to inspire students PreK-12 to pursue careers in STEM by offering robotics and science-based programs that help children build critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. Thanks to last year’s $5,000 Pioneers with Purpose Grant, Innovation Station was able to purchase a high-quality 3D printer and computer equipment, expanding their offerings to include CAD, game design, a hydrogen fuel cell car design and build class, and Girls Who Code programs. These expanded capabilities have enabled their programs to reach more students and offer diverse, high-impact learning experiences.
