When it came to the question of what it means to be human in the age of #AI, I found Teller's response intriguing (slightly edited): "Every time change happens, it kerfuffles us. That's natural. That's part of the human condition. But occasionally, that kerfuffling is qualitatively more painful. When Copernicus said that our planet is not the center of the universe, that hurt in a different way because our sense of self was tied to being in the middle. If we're not in the middle, we're not as special...And I believe, at an unconscious level, society is hanging on by its fingernails right now to our last remaining sense of specialness."
