Plan International is a development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We have operated in South Sudan since 2006 as an independent and non-partisan organisation. Following the protracted and ever-evolving security and political situation in South Sudan, Plan International has shifted its programming approach to the triple nexus that includes humanitarian, development and peacebuilding initiatives.
Plan operates with an annual budget of around USD 25 million in 12 counties across five States in South Sudan. With over 400 staff, we implement our activities within four strategic priorities, including Protection; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); Inclusive and Quality Education (IQE); and Skills and Opportunities for Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (SOYEE):
In all our, we work with children, young people and communities to tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability, and we have been successful due to a strong community presence and unwavering support from our development partners such as BMZ, GFFO, SDC, ECHO, WFP, UNICEF, SSHF and ECW.
