Safety and Accessibility in Sports #MarketplaceMinistry - Christian Entrepreneur

Every decision we make at Players Health comes down to one question: How can we better serve and protect athletes? Today, I'm incredibly excited to announce three new leaders who embody this mission in everything they do: - Brian McDowell as Chief Revenue Officer - Tate Gillespie as Director of NIL Strategy & Partnerships - Jordan Poydras as NIL Division Producer/Risk Advisor What strikes me most about Brian, Tate, and Jordan isn't just their impressive experience - it's their heart for making sports safer and more accessible. Each of them could have chosen easier paths, but they're here because they believe in building something bigger than themselves. Brian brings the kind of servant leadership and strategic vision that will help us reach more athletes who need protection. Tate's deep understanding of collegiate athletics and NIL isn't only professional - it's personal, shaped by his own journey as an athlete. And Jordan's story of how injury impacted his college career drives his passion for ensuring today's athletes have the support they need. As we build Players Health into the sanctuary it's meant to be - a place where athletes feel loved, accepted, and protected - having leaders who truly understand our mission is everything. We're not just trying to sell insurance or check boxes. We're creating real change in how we protect young athletes, and that takes people who lead with both their heads and their hearts. To Brian, Tate, and Jordan - welcome to the family. Let's create the change we want to see in sports. 🙏🏾 And to my Linkedin family reading this - thank you for being part of our journey to make sports safer for all. The best is yet to come! #SportsSafety #ServantLeadership #PlayersHealth #NIL

  • The numbers are in, and they tell an inspiring story: Girls' sports participation is at its highest level in over a decade! 🏃♀️🏀⚽️ New data from the The Aspen Institute and the SFIA - Sports & Fitness Industry Association shows 34% of girls ages 6-12 and 38% of girls ages 13-17 are now participating in sports - the highest rates since at least 2012. This surge in participation isn't only about statistics – it represents millions of young women discovering their strength, building confidence, and developing leadership skills through athletics. Rising stars in womens' sports like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and others are showing the next generation what's possible. But this movement is bigger than any one athlete. It's about creating inclusive environments where all young people can thrive through sport. At Players Health, we're committed to making sports safer and more accessible for everyone. As we see more girls step onto courts and fields across America, our mission becomes even more vital: Ensuring every athlete has a safe space to play the sports they love. This is more than progress – it's a promise of what's possible when we break down barriers and support young athletes in pursuing their dreams. What are you seeing in your community? How are you helping create opportunities for the next generation of female athletes? #YouthSports #GirlsInSport #SportsSafety #WomenInSports #PlayersHealth

  • An emerging college sports NIL story to read about going into your holiday weekend 👀 Earlier this College Football Season, UNLV's star QB made national headlines when he left then undefeated Rebels after claiming a promised $100,000 NIL deal went unfulfilled. When a local casino operator offered to cover the amount, UNLV declined and confirmed the QB's departure. Here's the fascinating part: Many thought UNLV's promising 3-0 start would unravel. Instead: - They're now 9-2 and currently ranked 24th in the country - Their replacement QB has thrown for 1,100+ yards and 13 TDs - The program is having one of its best seasons since the '80s Meanwhile, the departing QB is ranked as the # 2 overall player in the transfer portal for 2025. This story raises interesting questions: - In the NIL era, do programs need star players as much as star players need programs? - Can team culture trump individual talent? - When verbal commitments fall through, who really loses in the long run? What's your take - did both sides somehow win in this situation? #CollegeSports #NIL #SportsBusiness #PlayersHealth

    NIL Strategy & Partnerships

Excited to share that I've joined the incredible team at Players Health this month, where I will be leading our NIL & Collegiate division, with a special emphasis on Strategic Partnerships.    From my experiences in collegiate and professional sports as an athlete, working with MLB, leading NIL Strategy at Kansas, and overseeing over 130 University Partnerships at The NIL Store, I've seen firsthand how critical it is to protect and support athletes and their organizations in this transformative period in collegiate athletics.   That's why I couldn't be more excited about this next chapter.   For the first time, we're offering collegiate athletes, agencies, universities, and collectives the comprehensive protection in roster and risk management they need in the NIL era- Helping athletic departments, coaches, agencies, and athletes themselves better understand their risk exposure and providing a vehicle to protect their investments. As we prepare to enter into a post-House Settlement world, NIL stakeholders and athletic departments are continuing to evolve into operating and strategizing more like professional sports organizations- and we are excited to serve them in that journey.     Players Health isn't just adapting to the changing landscape of collegiate athletics - we're helping shape it. We're building solutions that will fundamentally change how we approach roster and risk management in today’s environment, working hand-in-hand with our strategic partners to help professionalize collegiate athletics.    To my network in collegiate athletics, NIL, and beyond - I'm excited to continue working with so many great friends, colleagues, and partners in the space. If you'll be at SBJ Intercollegiate Athletics Forum in Vegas coming up, drop me a line to catch up!   #NIL #CollegeAthletics #PlayersHealth

Mom, Coach, Athlete | I help sport organizations keep their athletes safe

The hard truth about athlete safety: Having policies isn't enough - you need a framework that works in the real world. Too often, organizations treat safety protocols as a checkbox rather than a culture. This mindset needs to change. Here's how we're flipping the script at Players Health: ✓ Focus on implementation at the local level ✓ Make compliance achievable for volunteer coaches ✓ Create clear, consistent standards across all sports ✓ Use data to drive better safety outcomes ✓ Turn policy into practice The reality is: the most comprehensive safety policy means nothing if it can't be executed on the field. We need to stop making athlete safety complicated and start making it accessible. It's time to shift from protection to empowerment. Because when we get athlete safety right, we're not just preventing harm... We're creating environments where sports can truly transform lives. #AthleteSafety #YouthSports #PlayersHealth

Mom, Coach, Athlete | I help sport organizations keep their athletes safe

"I wouldn't have thought I'd be in sales, but here I am - because athlete safety IS sales." This was my message to Dr. Cryan's Sport Sales and Promotion class at Elon University 's WINS Forum. Whether you're selling a product, a vision, or a cultural shift - it all comes down to communicating value. At Players Health, our "sale" is simple: Every athlete deserves a safe environment to play the sports they love. Sometimes the most important sales aren't about products - they're about creating positive change. Thank you to the engaged students who reminded me why this mission matters so much. #SportsBusiness #AthleteSafety #WomenInSports #PlayersHealth
