Today, we're excited to announce the launch of Policy-Enhanced Impact Investing, a collaborative initiative from Blue Haven Initiative and LAVA Strategies. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆? 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘄? Impact investing has grown exponentially, from $8 billion in 2012 to $39.8 billion in 2022, driving powerful social and environmental change. Yet, legacy industries—energy, banking, telecom, and others—have long outpaced us in shaping public policy to their advantage. It’s time for impact investors to harness this tool. By integrating policy and advocacy into our investment strategies, we can eliminate barriers, foster long-term political influence, and create a more favorable environment for achieving impact goals. This approach draws lessons from successful movements like marriage equality, cannabis legalization, and clean energy standards, aligning philanthropic and political capital with for-profit investments for greater societal impact.
