We’re very pleased to share that Pony.ai Europe, the European division of Pony.ai, held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony yesterday with Emile Weber, Luxembourg’s and the Greater Region’s leading transport company, to advance the development of autonomous mobility in the Grand Duchy. The partnership between Pony.ai Europe and Emile Weber will jumpstart the research, development, and deployment of autonomous vehicles in Luxembourg. Emile Weber (emile weber) is one of Luxembourg’s leading providers of mobility solutions. This MoU is another milestone in Pony.ai’s expansion into Europe in 2024. In March 2024, Pony.ai announced the signing of an MoU with the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to advance autonomous mobility in the country. In September 2024, Pony.ai formally established Pony.ai Europe and its European hub in Luxembourg, which will serve as a center for Pony.ai’s cutting-edge research and development of autonomous vehicle technology. Pony.ai’s Luxembourg-based hub will be pivotal in driving technological advancements and tailoring solutions for the European market. As a global leader in innovation and technology, Luxembourg presents an excellent opportunity for Pony.ai to further develop its leading autonomous mobility technology in Europe.

The Pony.ai US team recently celebrated its annual Summer Bash event at the beautiful Fremont Central Park, with its stunning lakeside views. Ponies bonded over a picnic, a BBQ happy hour and several team sports games, in which six teams competed for prizes. Everyone had a marvelous day of team bonding, a day that exemplified our tight-knit and driven to excellence Pony company culture.

Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a strategic partnership for large scale commercial robotaxi operations, first in China and subsequently in other key international markets. ComfortDelGro is a leading multimodal mobility operator with a global taxi network of over 29,000 vehicles. This collaboration showcases an innovative industry cooperation model, driven by the large-scale deployment of autonomous driving vehicles. It presents an excellent platform for both companies to co-develop safe and sustainable autonomous mobility solutions for future deployment in different international markets. This MoU builds on the news of Pony.ai’s recent global expansion. Pony.ai is rapidly expanding globally, with recent investment and partnership announcements in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Korea and Luxembourg and the company looks forward to expanding to more markets in the near future.

Dr. James Peng, Pony.ai’s co-founder and CEO spoke in a keynote fireside chat at #MOVE2024 in London, UK yesterday to around 500 leading mobility industry executives. MOVE describes itself as “the world's number one tech mobility event, bringing together the people and companies redefining mobility.” James’ keynote fireside chat was moderated by Michael Dean, Global Head of Automotive Research at Bloomberg Intelligence. During James’ keynote fireside chat he talked about Pony.ai’s global expansion, especially the company’s focus on Europe and its recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. They also spoke about Pony.ai’s current fare-charging, fully driverless robotaxi operations in China and how autonomous vehicle technology is entering the commercialization era and mass production era, underscored by Pony.ai’s joint venture with Toyota and GAC Toyota. Through the joint venture, a fleet of a thousand robotaxis will be deployed in the first phase to provide fully driverless autonomous mobility services in Tier-1 cities across China.

Dr. James Peng, Pony.ai’s co-founder and CEO delivered a keynote speech at the Automobil-Elektronik Kongress 2024 (AEK) in Ludwigsburg, Germany yesterday to more than 500 of Europe’s leading auto industry executives; AEK is one of Europe’s premier auto industry events. James’ 30 minute keynote speech was extended by approximately 15 minutes due to an engaging Q&A session, which showed great audience interest in Pony.ai’s Autonomous Vehicle technology. In James’ keynote speech titled “Autonomous Driving’s iPhone Moment,” he introduced Pony.ai’s leading autonomous vehicle tech and safety features, our current fully driverless, public-facing and fare-charging robotaxi operations in China, how we’re entering the commercialization era of robotaxis and provided updates on Pony.ai’s recent global expansion with an emphasis on Pony.ai’s expansion into Europe. In March 2024, Pony.ai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to advance the development of autonomous mobility in Luxembourg. Pony.ai will establish a Luxembourg-based hub which will be pivotal in driving technological advancements and tailoring solutions for the European market.
