Power Up Nursing
Hospitals and Health Care
A national movement to advance the science and spirit of nursing.
About us
POWER UP NURSING is a national movement to cultivate and celebrate the science and spirit of nursing. Led by nurses and anchored by U.S. hospitals, POWER UP NURSING makes an impact with hospital-based POWER UP data-driven wellness programs, our POWER UP NURSING digital platformwith ongoing education, virtual events, podcasts, e-commerce, and news, as well as regional and local POWER UP COMMUNITY EVENTS. POWER UP NURSING is coordinated by Leanne Meier RN, nurse influencer, speaker, author, and podcaster of Once a Nurse, Always a Nurse with outreach to more than 120,000 nurses worldwide and Alba Rodriguez, Ph.D, neuroscientist, researcher, and international stress and pain resolution expert. The core of our work in 2022 focusses on hospital-sponsored POWER UP RETREATS presented in one- day on hospital campus for nurses seeking balance, well-being, and renewed energy. The POWER UP RETREAT is designed to bring delight and motivation back to the practice of nursing. “Power Up” is not just a theme but a personal and professional road map that nurses create and takeaway from the day-long retreat.

Let’s celebrate the holiday that is about the best gift of all: GIVE YOURSELF in service to others to bring peace and joy to a dark and often frightening world. Don’t worry that you don’t have enough “money” for gifts this year. You have YOU, your words and actions, both of which can change someone’s life. Merry Christmas season friends, family, and colleagues. USE YOUR HEART AND MIND not your wallet to give gifts. (Although you can wrap a letter, a memory, a favor, or an invitation in a pretty box too.)
