Ali Kennard and I had the pleasure of showcasing SnapCore, Pinpoint Earth and Seaweave technology and capability to Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon and Christopher Bishop alongside Blair Cameron and team. Was really exciting to have the opportunity to discuss Snap Group and also the recent announcements and initiatives in the NZ science and technology space in New Zealand! My son Yoshia (who is an up and coming photographer) took the pictures and enjoyed having the afternoon off school to meet the Prime Minister!

Smarter AI Starts with Smarter Data – and the Right Camera AI is only as good as the data it learns from. In water quality monitoring, relying on low-resolution, compressed images or generic object detection simply isn’t enough. That’s why we've worked with SnapCore to build a camera system designed for accuracy, flexibility, and real-time insights. 💥 Futureproofing - AI and technology are constantly evolving, choosing the right tool for the start will save time and money in the long term. 💥 4K raw image output – Detects subtle discolouration and environmental changes others miss. 💥Customisable AI zones – Focus on what matters, reducing false positives and preserving privacy. 💥 Edge computing – Processes data locally for instant decision-making and lower bandwidth costs. 💥Sensor integration – Combines visual and water quality data for a complete environmental picture. 💥Expert-led and Practical AI development – In collaboration with our partners, the experts from Topologic, our AI models continuously evolve, improving accuracy in detecting real environmental changes. When it comes to simplifying water management, generic solutions won’t cut it. Smarter technology leads to better decisions, and better decisions lead to healthier ecosystems. The construction team at 55 Bridge Street had a well-earned break over summer, during which time, we temporarily opened up the roadway connecting Trafalgar Street to Wakatu Square. Now that the team is back in action, we have closed the road again for safety as we move towards completion. The building is shaping up beautifully. We are thrilled with the progress and can’t wait to welcome our new tenants in just a few months, right on schedule! Big thanks to SnapCore for teaming up with us to capture this awesome time-lapse.

Enabling AI Solutions with Robust Visual Data Capture & Edge AI Hardware Platforms

The excitement was real hearing from Abi Croutear-Foy that AquaWatch's SnapCore cameras detected a significant discharge event within just days of deployment. Immediate insights like these highlight the value of resilient edge AI hardware in critical field environments, supporting timely and impactful decisions. If your work could benefit from real-time data capture and analysis in tough conditions, feel free to reach out—I’d love to chat.

Building visual AI is a complex process that relies on great data. Not only does our SnapCore edge computing camera deliver that data, it also allows us to work on multiple models simultaneously, delivering value straight away. By leveraging active learning—supported by an auxiliary model—we can efficiently flag events requiring review and labeling, saving time and focusing resources on high-value data points. It's part of our goal to simplify water science, by making the complex feel easy. At this discharge location, for example, the active learning model alerts us to events needing attention, enabling immediate action and helping refine our sediment and discharge tracking AI. This approach not only accelerates our nuanced development but also shortens the gap between identifying and resolving issues right off the bat. In collaboration with our European and NZ partners, we’re advancing this model and others to provide alerts as to flow, and water level, to ensure accuracy in dynamic conditions—making water quality monitoring agile, scalable, and capable of responding swiftly to evolving environmental needs. Get in touch to know how you can start tracking more details around your stormwater and CSO overflows, making both reporting and remediation faster, more effective, and cheaper.
