Celebrating 30 Years of Pratham: Down the Rabbit Hole and Beyond! Thirty years ago, Pratham tumbled down the rabbit hole, fueled by a bold dream, unwavering courage, and a determination to reimagine education. What followed was nothing short of a wonderland—where the impossible became possible, and "status quo" was just a phrase begging to be challenged. For me, joining Pratham felt like stepping into my very own Wonderland. The Mad Hatters (aka visionary leaders) showed us how to think outside the tea party, the White Rabbits kept reminding us there was no time to waste, and the Cheshire Cats? Well, they taught us to smile through it all. Pratham didn’t just teach me to navigate this whimsical maze—it shaped me into a better educator, leader, and, most importantly, a better human. It showed me how to spark curiosity, spread joy, and turn dreams into realities with relentless passion and a sprinkle of madness (the good kind). That spark? Oh, it spread. Wherever we went, Pratham’s magic followed, creating new Wonderlands of change and transformation - one step, one child, one person, one community at a time. This video feels like peeking through the looking glass, revisiting my unforgettable journey through Pratham’s wonderland of change and possibility. Here’s to 30 years of breaking boundaries, adding colour to the world, and inspiring curiosity wherever you go. Pratham, you have been the heart of this incredible wonderland of change. Wishing you many more wonderlands and decades of magic ahead! 💛 Rukmini Banerji Madhav Chavan Samyukta Subramanian Faiyaz Ahmed Shailendra Sharma Balvinder Singh Manjeet Kaur Richa Maheshwari Kratika Pande Savitri Bobde Shayak Banerjee Sumit Arora Sreerupa Sil #prathameducationfoundation#educationforchange#possibilities#asercentre

Creating the ASER report is no small feat—it’s a testament to the unwavering dedication of thousands of people across the country. This year, ASER reached over 600 districts and more than 6 lakh children, capturing stories and insights from across India. ASER team and volunteers worked tirelessly, travelling to the most remote corners of the country. They spoke to families and children in villages that are often hard to reach, going beyond just data collection to understand the essence of education in rural India. ASER report a journey of scale and impact, and now, after months of relentless effort, we’re almost there. On January 28th, the ASER 2024 report will be unveiled. Stay tuned for more!

On January 7, Pratham, with support from USAID, inaugurated an Inclusive Action Centre (IAC) in Mumbai. The event, co-hosted by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, saw participation from Zareena Parkar (Principal, Urdu Medium), Satyaprakash Dubey (Headmaster), and the entire Kasturba School community, where the IAC is located and functions as a Samagra Shiksha - Urban Resource Center (URC). The program included the inauguration of a Sensory Garden, a Learning Room, and a Therapy Room. This was followed by a play by secondary school students and a dance performance by children from the Urja Counselling and Remedial Centre Mumbai. The event also featured inspiring addresses by Dr. Poonam Smith-Sreen (Deputy Director, General Development Office, USAID India) Nisar Khan (Deputy Education Officer, Western Suburb, Mumbai), and Farida Lambay (Co-founder, Pratham). Their speeches, along with the presence of Nandu Ghare (Superintendent, Samagra Shiksha), officials from URCs, Anganwadi supervisors, and caregivers of children enrolled at the IAC, underscored a shared commitment to inclusive education. IACs are a cornerstone of ENABLE, an initiative by USAID and Pratham. Embedded within government schools, these centres serve as resource hubs for inclusive education, empowering caregivers, educators, and Anganwadi workers to create supportive learning environments where every child, regardless of ability, can thrive.
