Our client had over 200,000 new SKUs added to their inventory and needed storage space quickly. We selected an AS/RS solution to maximize the building cube space by installing Kardex Remstar Vertical Lift Modules and conveyor supporting the inbound and outbound operation. The solution was implemented in just under six months. The result: the new system reduced order picking FTE in the first year by approximately 30 full-time employees and improved the overall storage footprint in the building. We are privileged to have partnered with S&S Activewear on the implementation of their new Geek+ Pop Pick system. We designed the conveyance system with S&S which allows operators to efficiently decant SKUs from inbound cartons into totes which are auto-inducted into the Pop Pick system. The auto-induction was the first time that conveyor was used to induct totes into a Pop Pick system. This system allows S&S to pick 80K lines per day, or 15-16K orders per day. All 60K SKUs stored in the Pop Pick system are inducted via PWD’s conveyor system.
