  • Empowering Entrepreneurs in Selebi-Phikwe! Premium Resources proudly celebrates the success of the 2024 Selebi-Phikwe Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program. This impactful initiative was designed to mentor and empower local entrepreneurs, bridging the gap between training and successful business operations. Launched in May, this six-month program was made possible through collaboration of the U.S. Embassy Gaborone, Botswana, USAID - US Agency for International Development , CollaborateUp, and the Core Stakeholder Group, showcasing the power of strategic partnerships. The program supported 24 entrepreneurs, 58% of whom were women, offering mentorship, refresher courses, and practical business skills. Participants, ranging from small restaurants and bakeries to industrial suppliers, leveraged these tools to grow their ventures. On November 14, Premium Resources hosted a networking reception to honor these innovators and the program’s achievements. The event underscored the shared commitment to socio-economic growth and revitalization in Selebi-Phikwe. At Premium Resources, we are committed to fostering sustainable economic opportunities that will continue to benefit Selebi-Phikwe for generations to come. Thank you to our partners: U.S. Embassy in Botswana, Office of District Commissioner, LEA, CEDA, Botswana Tourism, Humana People to People, Kuli Engineering [PTY] LTD, First National Bank, Tokafala, and Ecoknow [PTY] LTD. • Women in Mining: Spotlight on Ms. Maemo Mafule, Geotechnician at Premium Resources Botswana We are excited to introduce Maemo "Leloba" Mafule, a talented Geotechnician at Premium Resources Botswana. Leloba holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from BIUST and brings over seven years of experience as a geotechnical geologist within the civil, mining and exploration industry. In her current role, Leloba’s expertise shines as she oversees drill rig site supervision, manages SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) protocols, and conducts geotechnical and geological core logging. Her work includes delineating geology, structures, and other vital information that feeds into the resource model, making her a critical contributor to our operations. Leloba shares, "Premium Resources has greatly afforded me the best opportunity, to learn not just from a team full of well experienced Geologists but from a system that has a very unique set up, that is an established mine and exploration at the same time. My time here has been nothing short of exciting as I learn every day, especially with the rocks, it is always fun to see something for the first time and try to understand what it may be. This has greatly caressed my passion for Geology; however, my first Love and interest is rock mechanics, which I intend to explore more as I grow in the Geoscience world." Leloba's passion and dedication exemplify the exceptional talent at Premium Resources Botswana, and we are proud to celebrate her contributions to our team and the mining industry. #InclusiveWorkplace #WomenInMining #EmpoweringWomen #BreakingBarriers

  • Growing a Greener Future! On 29th November 2024, Premium Resources Botswana led a successful tree planting initiative, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability. The event, held at the mine site, involved planting a variety of tree species selected not only to enhance the aesthetic of the mine but also to restore and green the environment for future generations. As part of this initiative, 30 plants were graciously donated by the Department of Forestry and Range Resources, further supporting PRB’s environmental goals. This initiative by PRB aligns with the national annual tree planting campaign, reinforcing our dedication to conservation practices. This is just the beginning; we are committed to making this initiative an annual event, expanding in scale and impact each year. We plan to actively collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Department of Forestry and Range Resources and the Selibe-Phikwe community, to broaden the scope and effectiveness of this project. Together, we will create meaningful environmental benefits and foster a strong culture of sustainability in the region. Our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Moeng, Head of Station at the Department of Forestry and Range Resources, for taking the time to join us and provide valuable guidance during the tree planting initiative. Her expertise and insightful induction on the proper methods for planting and caring for trees were instrumental in ensuring the success of the event. Mrs. Moeng’s involvement further underscores the importance of collaboration between stakeholders in achieving meaningful environmental sustainability. We deeply appreciate the support and dedication to fostering a greener future, and we look forward to continuing to work together on future conservation efforts. #TreePlanting #GoGreen #BotswanaConservation
