Our software empowers schools, communities, public health organizations, congregate living facilities and others to provide affordable and accessible healthcare (testing, vaccinations, preventive care and more). Our testing solutions include over-the-counter, CLIA-waived point-of-care, and at-home testing, with virtual consults, e-prescribe, and follow-up care available for positive or abnormal test results. For every Primary.Health offering, our software platform streamlines program administration, scheduling, patient communications, test results reporting and more, freeing healthcare staff to do more of what they do best - care for their population. Primary.Health data analytics and reports support decision-making and compliance needs.

Evidence from the CDC on #H5N1 infections in veterinarians suggests a need for better surveillance. We're working with South Dakota Department of Health to lay the groundwork for future H5N1 response at dairy farms -- and building trust in the process. New MMWR report describes a serosurvey by public health officials to assess past exposure to H5 bird flu among 150 bovine veterinary practitioners. The results showed three participants (2%) had evidence of antibodies to H5 bird flu, suggesting recent infection. Two reported no exposures to animals with known or suspected bird flu illness, and one practiced in states with no known H5 virus-infected cattle. More here: https://bit.ly/mm7404a2

Thanks APHL - Association of Public Health Laboratories for highlighting how molecular testing by public health laboratories (PHLs) is key to fighting the spread of TB: "Molecular tests...provide results in hours-to-days instead of days-to-weeks. Using molecular testing, PHLs can detect TB as well as some markers known to indicate resistance to those first- and second-line drugs used for treatment. Quicker detection means the correct treatment can be initiated sooner and the disease is more likely to be contained." With most TB testing done by PHLs rather than by private labs, PHL speed and efficiency is critical. Learn how Primary.Health's PHL data modernization and interoperability solutions help PHLs safeguard public health while eliminating manual workflows. https://lnkd.in/eDZPhZeC #TB #PublicHealth #DataModernization #ETOR
Cases of tuberculosis (TB) are skyrocketing in Kansas, where, as of last count, there have been 146 confirmed cases and two deaths since January 2024, making it one of the largest TB outbreaks this country has seen in decades. Our latest blog explains how public health laboratories, with their expert testing capabilities, are working to stop the spread. Read more:

Ever wonder how our nation's blood banks came to be? In our continuing Black History Month celebration, we salute Dr. Charles R. Drew, who discovered a method for long-term storage of blood plasma. He also organized the U.S.'s first large-scale blood bank. In a later heroic action, he resigned as director of the Red Cross Blood Bank to protest the U.S. War Dept.'s policy that African American blood be separated from the blood of White Americans. #HealthcareHeroes #BlackHistoryMonth

Thank you Association of State and Territorial Health Officials for sharing the transformational power of Public Health Information Grants (PHIGs) for public health. Public Health Laboratories in particular can use these grants to achieve the data modernization necessary for optimal emergency preparedness. During our recent Data Modernization Forum, Public Health Advisor Patina Gagne advised Public Health Labs to tap PHIGs to recruit and retain staff, enhance skill sets, and acquire and upgrade data systems.
