  • At ProCell, we believe that every drop of blood matters🩸 That's why we are transforming the way blood is managed in the operating room. By collecting and reinfusing blood lost during procedures, we help reduce the need for transfusions, promote faster recovery, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Join us on our mission to elevate surgical practices and deliver the highest level of patient care.

  • "While implementing patient blood management (PBM) strategies may involve upfront costs, these are often offset by the long-term benefits, which can include reduced transfusion rates and associated risks, improved patient outcomes, and lower overall healthcare costs. This involves getting everyone in patient care on board - not just patients, surgeons, and anesthesiologists, but also nursing staff, laboratory technicians and pharmacists. The support of the hospital administration is also vital." - Dr. Pierre Tibi (https://lnkd.in/dBgfcKEw) Did you know that sponge-blood accounts for 30% to 50% of total blood loss during surgery? ProCell's patented design replaces the need for manually hand-wringing surgical sponges for blood recovery.

  • As we quickly approach 2025, it is imperative to actively recognize the potential risks associated with blood transfusions... According to Dr. Aryeh Shander (Emeritus Chair at the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Pain Management and Hyperbaric Medicine at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center), "A blood transfusion is essentially an organ transplant... to mitigate these risks, it is crucial to reduce or eliminate a patient's exposure to transfusions. In other areas of medicine, organ transplants are considered only after all other treatments have been exhausted - the same principle should apply to blood transfusions!" (https://lnkd.in/dBgfcKEw) ProCell® can reduce transfusions by replacing the outdated, manual activity of hand-wringing surgical sponges with an automated, more efficient blood collection process. • A patient blood management (PBM) program uses a team approach to assess a patient’s blood management needs. The goal of the team is to develop a plan of care that uses pharmaceuticals, technology and techniques to decrease blood loss and to enhance blood cell production. This approach reduces or eliminates the need for a blood transfusion. ProCell® can reduce blood transfusions by replacing the outdated, manual activity of hand-wringing blood-laden surgical sponges with an automated, more efficient blood collection process. • This season, Abbott and the Big Ten are pitting school against school in the largest blood donation competition of our lifetime to fight the largest blood shortage in a generation – “The We Give Blood Drive." The U.S. is experiencing the worst blood shortage in a generation. Shortages are exacerbated by the fact that fewer and fewer people under 25 donate blood. Many hospitals currently have fewer than two days’ worth of blood on hand. • Did you know that perioperative red blood cell transfusion is the single factor most reliably associated with increased risk of postoperative morbid events? Each unit of red blood cells transfused is associated with incrementally increased risk for adverse outcomes. ProCell's Sponge Blood Recovery Unit (SBRU) can reduce transfusions by replacing the outdated, manual activity of hand-wringing blood-laden surgical sponges with an automated, more efficient blood collection process. • NFL legend Tom Brady is partnering with universities in the Big Ten conference to boost blood donations. 13 of the 19 community blood centers in the Midwest (where most Big Ten schools are located) have less than two days of blood supply. The Red Cross declared an emergency blood shortage after its inventory plummeted during the summer. ProCell's Sponge Blood Recovery Unit (SBRU) can help reduce transfusions by replacing the outdated, manual activity of hand-wringing blood-laden surgical sponges with an automated, more efficient blood collection process. • For too long, blood transfusions were considered a go-to solution for severe injuries or complex surgical procedures. This long-standing practice, however, is not without flaws. Studies indicate that a significant portion of these transfusions -up to 55%- might be unnecessary, posing avoidable risks to patients and driving up healthcare costs.  (https://lnkd.in/eMEHJ-8m) ProCell's Sponge Blood Recovery Unit (SBRU) can reduce transfusions by replacing the outdated, manual activity of hand-wringing blood-laden surgical sponges with an automated, more efficient blood collection process. One study showed the use of ProCell® had an average reduction in LDH of 37% (LDH is a marker for hemolysis). Thinking blood salvage? Think ProCell®

  • A big thank you to the Society for the Advancement of Patient Blood Management, Inc. (SABM) for an excellent annual meeting in beautiful Phoenix and a special thanks from the team to all who stopped by our booth. At ProCell®, our Sponge Blood Recovery Unit supports cell/blood salvage in surgery by removing the need to hand-wring surgical sponges and automating the blood collection process. #pbm Remember, if it's a good case for a 'Cell Saver'...it's a good case for ProCell®
