  • Quick PSA for our Clients and Mockingbird Friends: We have noticed some concerns regarding unexpected changes in social media follows. To clarify, if you were following the official POTUS, FLOTUS, or VP accounts prior to the recent administration change, your follows have been automatically transitioned to the corresponding accounts of the current sitting President, First Lady, and Vice President. Instagram managed this transition seamlessly by creating archived accounts for the previous administration; however, platforms such as Facebook and X did not handle the process as efficiently, which may have caused some surprise or confusion. Please rest assured that this is a standard transition that accompanies changes in administrations, and there is no cause for concern. If you have further questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our team.

  • At Project Mockingbird, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s timeless question fuels our purpose. We amplify the voices of individuals and organizations that are making a difference because, together, we can spark real change. Let’s commit to acts of kindness, unity, and impact—big or small—that leave the world better than we found it. 🌍✨ How will you answer this question today? 💡💛 #MLKDay #SocialImpact #ChangeMakers #UnityForGood

  • Happy Birthday to the world’s best photographer and friend Lori Wilson!!! 🎉📸 It’s safe to say that so much of our success and our client’s success is thanks to Lori. Her photos of our clients have graced the covers of magazines across the country. 📖✨ Her kindness makes everyone she works with feel at ease (including us!). 😊💖 And her loyal friendship with our founder Lauren McKinnon dates back to the halls of a children’s hospital where Lori made thousands of families smile in their time of sorrow, for more than a decade. 💕🏥 She is a light that shines so bright and we are so lucky to have her in the OG mockingbird orbit! Join us in wishing her a BIG Happy Birthday!!! 🎂🎈🎁

Watching loved ones experience difficult times—whether it's the loss of someone they love, the effects of a natural disaster, or a personal health crisis—can feel even harder when you're far away. Consider these thoughtful ways to help from a distance. ▪️ Acknowledge your feelings—it’s okay to feel overwhelmed or anxious. ▪️ Reach out with no expectation of response: "No need to reply, just know I’m thinking of you." ▪️ Practice empathy over solutions: "I’m here for you. I can’t imagine how hard this is." ▪️ Offer support on their terms or make thoughtful gestures, like donating to recovery efforts. Empathy is the greatest gift you can give—and it travels any distance. 🌟 #MentalHealthSupport #EmpathyFirst #CrisisSupport #EmotionalWellness

In recognition of International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, I am sharing my thoughts on why it isn’t always so simple to “just leave” an abusive relationship. I hope it helps spark ideas to offer resources and have renewed compassion for our loved ones who might be facing abuse at home.

“Just Leave.” Why It’s Not So Easy to Leave an Abusive Relationship.
