A big milestone in our Beaver Creek Wind Project as the first wind turbine has been fully assembled. Over the next few months, 87 more turbines will be erected in Stillwater County, Montana. The wind farm is the latest addition in a growing list of renewable energy resources PSE is acquiring as it works toward meeting Washington State’s Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) goals for 2025 and beyond. Thanks to our Green Power and Solar Choice participants, the Family Support Center of South Sound installed a 50.20-kilowatt solar array on its new 62-unit permanent housing and supportive services facility. Our Lower Snake River Wind Facility just reached a big milestone – generating more than 10 million megawatt hours of energy since it went online in 2012. Every year, the facility generates on average enough electricity to serve about 70,000 homes. Several factors played a role in the wind facility achieving this stellar accomplishment; including having maintenance done when the wind isn’t blowing strong and replacing major components before a failure occurs to ensure the turbines are working in proper condition.
