On June 21, the United Nations celebrates physical and mental well-being with International Day of Yoga. Adopted by the U.N. in 2014, the day encourages exercising and managed breathing with the ancient Indian art of yoga to stay healthy and wipe away stress. Q2 also encourages yoga as a company for winding down amidst all the challenges and pressures of the world. #Yoga🧘

Championing Women, Peace, and Security Against Sexual Violence in Conflict June 19 is the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. This year, the United Nations points out that multiple conflicts not seen in scale since World War II have forced 117 million people from their homes.    This increases the risks for further Sexual Violence in Conflict, with the U.N. this year highlighting specific damage to hospital infrastructure as a growing peril.  Since the passing of the United States Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017 and the White House’s 2023 Women, Peace, and Security National Action Plan, across the United States Agency for International Development(USAID), Department of State (DOS), and Department of Defense (DoD), we are seeing positive steps taken to mitigate harm to women around the world.   We are deeply engaged as a company in urging greater awareness of Women, Peace, and Security and welcome such measures, and urge for more to be taken. Q2I implements an inclusive development approach across our programming and internal operations. As a company built on Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) we embrace participatory feedback and leverage diverse partnerships to advance Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) initiatives. Q2I currently provides subject matter expertise on WPS to the DoD, offering programmatic, research, monitoring, and evaluation solutions to key USNORTHCOM missions, including gender-based violence prevention and response, regional defense, and security cooperation. Through this partnership, USNORTHCOM has expand its WPS efforts, implementing Gender Optimization Policies, establishing a sexual assault and gender-based violence prevention capacity building effort, and launching a four-nation partnership to advance WPS multilaterally. Additionally, in support of the International Stability Operations Association (ISOA), Q2I Founder and CEO Ms. Neelima Grover leads the ISOA WPS Committee. Ms. Grover comments, “When stakeholders like USAID, Department of State, and Department of Defense act with the latest information and training on Women, Peace, and Security, we can see greater implementation and more power directed to reduce risks of sexual violence, human trafficking, and with it harm to society as a whole.” In the U.S., June 19th is also Juneteenth, which commemorates the day when the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned of their emancipation. The intersection of these days gives us the opportunity to reflect on the essential place of women and girls in peace and security. It also offers a moment to recall that around the world, black and Indigenous women and girls, women with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQI+ community are more likely to experience gender-based violence. By educating stakeholders on critical WPS challenges we hope to enable underrepresented populations of women to lead and effect outcomes in support of peace. #WomenPeaceSecurity

Q2 Impact heralds Juneteenth National Independence Day on June 19, which became a U.S. federal holiday in 2021. It recalls June 19, 1865 when enslaved Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned that they were finally free. This marks a turning point for greater inclusion on the long roads of freedom and justice--core values of the American people. #Juneteenth🇺🇸
