Today is Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This day occurs on the third Monday in January of each year. It is a day to remember, honor, and celebrate the legacy of Dr. King Jr. The wisdom he shared with us then, lives on in the now. While there are multiple quotes and sayings that will be shared today, let us not only think in the words he spoke, but the way he lived. Let us aim to bring people together, and to strive for better, for more, as he had. We would love to hear how you are remembering Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr today. #MLKDay2025 #MLK #HonoringMLK #MLKLegacy

At the beginning of the New Year, many of us create resolutions, or new routines to live by or achieve in the following year. For QSI, we have picked a word of the year to keep with us throughout 2025. The word we have chosen is ‘commitment’. QSI aims to continue to commit to providing our high-quality services to our clients, new and old, as we have always done. We commit to remaining transparent and kind with potential candidates throughout the interview, hiring, and onboarding processes. Enabling our candidates to find great companies to work for and doing the work they love. Committing to our current and future outreach and interaction within our local community. Fostering connections, building awareness, and growing together. At QSI, we commit to providing quality experiences and services to everyone we interact with. We are able to do what we do thanks in part to the clients, candidates, and community around us. QSI looks forward to showing just how fitting commitment is for our word of the year. We encourage you, as an individual, business, or group, to also begin thinking of a word of the year for you to live by. #wordoftheyear #commitment #wordof2025 #business

As we prepare for New Year’s Eve, many of us are making resolutions—picking up a new hobby, traveling, visiting family, or taking a class. But what about updating your resume? Probably not! However, consider adding it after reading this post. ~ Resume Format ~ First impressions matter! The following format is ideal for IT professionals and adaptable for others: -Name and Contact Information -Professional Summary (Objective Statement) -Technical Skills (e.g., tools, technologies, languages) -Professional Experience -Education -Additional Skills/Certifications For non-IT fields, highlight hard and soft skills at the top. Entry-level candidates should place education after the summary and list relevant courses. ~ Resume Design ~ A unique resume can showcase your personality and grab attention. Use free templates but avoid overly busy designs—balance professionalism and creativity. ~ Resume Content ~ Focus on “what you did, how you did it, and the outcome.” Use metrics where possible. Avoid repetitive phrasing if you have done similar tasks in various roles; rephrase similar tasks to keep your resume engaging. ~ Final Tips ~ Don’t fear longer resumes as your career grows (1–2 pages for starters; up to 4–6 pages for 10+ years of experience). For older roles, summarize: -Company -Title -Dates -1–3 Key Accomplishments Lastly, have your resume peer-reviewed for fresh perspectives and to catch any errors you may have missed. We wish the best for everyone in the New Year and hope this guide will aid those who are searching for their next opportunity. If you have any questions or would like our recruiters to take a peek at your resume, feel free to reach out to us here at QSI. #NewYear #NewResume #resumetips #resumebuilding #resume #recruiting #jobs #jobhunting #opportunities

The Spirit of Giving: People, Places, and Organizations you can donate to today. ‘Tis the Holiday Season and often around this time of year is when many are in need. Here at QSI, we have compiled some local and national places and organizations that you can donate to financially or volunteer your time to make this season merry and bright for those around us. Donate Blood: - Red Cross takes blood donations year round. To find a donation or blood drive near you, visit https://lnkd.in/ebwyUut. Volunteering: There are various ways to volunteer and give back to your local community. Below are a few different places or organizations you can volunteer with. - Meals on Wheels. Help make and deliver meals to local community members. - Feed My Starving Children. Help make and pack meals to send to children all over the world. Grab family or friends and make a night out of it! - Animal Shelters. Animal shelters like the Humane Society need volunteers to spend time playing, walking, and cuddling with furry friends. This helps the animals prepare for future homes. - Literacy Minnesota. Volunteer your time to help individuals improve their reading, writing, and English-speaking skills. - People Serving People. A shelter that provides multiple resources to families experiencing homelessness. Spend time assisting with various education, financial literacy, or other programs to help these families get back on their feet. These are just a few ways to give back to our local community here in Minnesota and elsewhere. Not only can you volunteer your time or donate blood, but you can also provide financial donations to the organizations mentioned above, or others. Check out the links below to learn about other volunteering opportunities and places to donate to this holiday season. https://lnkd.in/dFx9EZ8 https://lnkd.in/gVSq4Vb9 https://lnkd.in/grwJurtp https://lnkd.in/gDUdY-Hy Happy Holidays to one and all! #happyholidays #seasonofgiving #donate #volunteer #giving #holidaycheer

UNICEF Day For Change December 11th of every year stands as UNICEF’s date of founding and its ‘Day for Change’ movement. Day for Change is meant to shine light and spread awareness on children's rights and well-being across the globe. Children’s rights and the protection of those rights are an integral part of UNICEF's mission. UNICEF has consistently been the voice for those who are unable to speak up for themselves all around the world. UNICEF not only shares stories to spread awareness of child rights violations, but also provides services to children in need such as child healthcare, nutrition programs, child protection (social services and justice system), violence prevention, advocacy, safe water and sanitation, and education. UNICEF is a nonprofit that is able to operate due to the funding from voluntary contributions from governments, intergovernmental organizations, foundations, private-sector, and individual contributions. Since it is the season of giving, and if you are looking for a place to give to, why not consider donating to UNICEF this holiday season. #seasonofgiving #UNICEF #childprotection #DayForChange

Today, is #NationalDayofGiving. At QSI, we are proud to celebrate this day by reaffirming our commitment to giving back to the Minnesota community and beyond. While today is a dedicated occasion for giving, we believe in the importance of supporting our community every day of the year. At QSI, philanthropy is woven into the fabric of our organization. Throughout the year, QSI participates in various give back initiatives. Whether through our own endeavors or in partnership with our clients and the efforts they support. Some examples of charities or organizations we support throughout the year are the ALS Association, Green Beret Foundation, Wounded Warriors, JP4 Foundation, Shriners, and Hope Chest (Breast Cancer). These partnerships reflect our commitment to addressing a wide range of needs within our community. On this #NationalDayofGiving, we encourage everyone to find a cause that resonates with them. Whether you contribute individually or inspire your employer to support a local organization, your participation matters. Donations—no matter the size—can make a meaningful difference. Together, small acts of generosity can create lasting change. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the importance of giving and find ways to support organizations that make our communities stronger. #community #giveback #donation

What We’re Thankful For As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we here at QSI would like to share what we are most grateful and thankful for this year. 2024 has been quite the rollercoaster of a year. However, even when things get rough, there is a silver lining to look to; or at least that’s how we at QSI like to see things. For those who may not know, QSI had an office fire early this year. We are thankful that no one was in the offices at the time and that everyone was safe and sound. We are also thankful for the new office building we have since moved into. We are thankful for our great employees and consultants who work hard, do their best, and strive to succeed in all things that they do. We are thankful for the wonderful clients we support as members of their vendor lists and grateful for the opportunities they have that enable us to provide them with potential talent. These are just a few of things we are thankful for. However, we would love to hear from you and what you’re thankful for this holiday season. #Thanksgiving #grateful #thankful

Don’t Be Spooked - How to nail your next job interview! Have you ever had feelings of intense fear? A chill running down your spine? Whether it is due to the spooky season this Halloween or not, one thing for sure is that interviewing can be incredibly nerve wracking, or even scary at times. Here’s how to face the frights during your next interview. Research - Knowledge is Power. The more you know about the company, their mission, and the role, the better prepared you’ll be for fielding questions. - Completing company research helps to determine before your interview if you believe the workplace culture and environment will be a good fit. Or prepare questions before your interview to gauge the role more effectively. Resume - Have a copy of your resume and the job description in front of you during your interview. That way, if a recruiter asks about a specific bullet, you can find it and provide more context to your answer. - Resumes are still the gold standard, and can make a solid impression. A cover letter along with a resume packs a one-two punch when it comes to making a great first impression before your interview. Remember - The recruiter, the team, and the company want this to work out. They want to hire someone for this role. - Be yourself. Authenticity goes a long way in an interview. Sometimes you can have the same skills as someone else, but your personality will award you the role over that other person. - The interview doesn’t have to go perfectly. We’re human. Nerves, word slips, or pauses happen, and that’s okay! Don’t let the skeletons in your interview closet keep you from finding your next role. Use the tips and tricks above to squash those fears and reap the rewards of nailing your next interview as well as the treat of a new role! #HappyHalloween #Halloween2024 #recruiting #opportunities #recruitment #jobhunting
