Exciting updates from the Airbus x BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge—quantum is a marathon, and the momentum is building!
Today was all about quantum use cases. At Quantum Effects in Stuttgart Jasper Simon Krauser, Elvira Shishenina, Chandan Kumar, Mira Dechant and myself were on stage updating on the status of the Airbus x BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge. The Challenge, delivered in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and hosted by The Quantum Insider, is now in the final stretches with 15 finalists deploying their solutions in preparation for final submissions end of this month. My key takeaways: - Investing in #quantum is a marathon, not a sprint. There are material benefits from being early and building the institutional knowledge and experience to understand the potential applications. - Getting your corporate to consider investing in quantum often has its challenges. Immediate ROI isn't always clear and #ai often takes center stage. Building buy in at the leadership level is important. Updating on incremental milestones keeps the momentum. - More enterprises are taking quantum seriously. Based on data from The Quantum Insider, there has been a 10x increase in the number of corporate engaging in quantum market research / POCs / deployments over the last four years.
