Quiet Communities believes a quieter, healthier world is possible and should be accessible to everyone. Quiet Communities is here to help with noise problems that matter to you — helicopters, motorcycles, leaf blowers, loud restaurants, and more. Join us in protecting our health, environment, and quality of life from noise and pollution related to industrial landscape maintenance. Our aim is to establish clean, green, serene, and healthy landscape maintenance practices as the valued norm in homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and public spaces. Our activities include: Education and outreach to communities and contractors on 1) the health, environmental, quality of life and economic impacts impact of excessive industrial outdoor maintenance practices and 2) the availability of healthy, sustainable alternatives. Development of scientific and business resources for communities and contractors, including a central repository of scientific, medical and policy statements Active initiatives with municipalities, campuses, and neighborhoods to implement healthy, sustainable outdoor maintenance programs/policies Research on the health and environmental impact of industrial maintenance noise and pollution.
