  • Our year-end fundraising campaign, Tomorrow Can't Wait, is officially kicking off. 🎉 As you plan for your year-end giving, we hope you will consider making a meaningful donation to the Rare Cancer Research Foundation. 🙌 Join us and support rare cancer research today: https://lnkd.in/eTZQDfrU When you choose to give, you will help us to launch our Pattern Data Commons, the first-of-its-kind open-source data platform designed for the needs of rare cancer researchers across the country. This platform will accelerate rare cancer research by storing, harmonizing, and sharing rare cancer data and making it easier for researchers and bioinformaticians to use. Additionally, our new platform will enable patients to "donate their data," using their experiences and clinical data to drive new discoveries. 💙💚 Together, these programs will enable researchers to move faster by eliminating common barriers to collaboration across institutions and make transformative advances in rare cancer treatment. Tomorrow Can't Wait.

    • Text over green graphic reads, "5 million people today are living with a rare cancer diagnosis in the U.S. and 500,000 new people are diagnosed every year. We’re working to accelerate the discovery of better treatments and cures.

Tomorrow Can’t Wait.

Join us today."
    • Headshot of Dr. Jesse Boehm attached to quote that reads, "We have to ensure that laboratory researchers today have what they need to make the best therapeutic discoveries.”
  • It may be a New Year, but our resolution remains the same: through our fiercely patient-centric approach, we are still working tirelessly to create greatly needed research infrastructure to improve outcomes and care for #RareCancer patients. A key part of this, as mentioned, is our patients - every day, you inspire us to push harder and challenge status quos. We are here for you to help you however we can. 💙 💚 👉 Reach out to us or check out our resources page here: https://lnkd.in/eJaZjvm6

    • Blue and green graphic that reads, "Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with a rare cancer? Are you looking for resources or more information? We're here for you. Send us a DM or email info@rarecancer.org"
  • 2024 Wrap-Up: Click through to see what we were up to this year! 👏 We're reflecting on this year and our work is more urgent than ever. Shoutout to our community of patients, organizations, and researchers who drive us to make faster progress, think bigger, and remind us that we cannot stop until every rare cancer patient has access to effective treatments. Thank you for being in our community - with your help, 2025 is going to be a BIG year. 💚💙

  • According to our partner the Chondrosarcoma Foundation, only ~19% of rare cancer patients receive genomic sequencing. 🧬 Here at RCRF, we're working to change that. We believe that every rare cancer patient should have access to this increasingly important information, which can be the critical link to more targeted therapies and clinical trials. Are you a researcher or patient who is interested in learning more about what we do? Visit rcrf.org and send us a message to get connected! 💙 💚

Immunotherapy, pizza & ocean views. Say less. Amazing experience talking about work at Rare Cancer Research Foundation & Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy at the Immunotherapy Bridge meeting. Thank you to the organizers, particularly the two super women who chaired my session, Lisa Butterfield & Liz Burton.

Another amazing Immunotherapy and Melanoma Bridges meeting in Naples with the best host Paolo A. Ascierto. Highlights on advances in neoadjuvant immunotherapy across cancers and brilliant sessions in immune monitoring and also brain metastases in melanoma. Grateful to be with these incredible colleagues once again and to bring in new folks this year - Tim Heffernan and Christine Spencer from Rare Cancer Research Foundation. And! My first post PhD pic with two of my incredible committee members, Paolo A. Ascierto and Prof Dr Christian Blank, who have been unwavering in their support and friendship throughout the years and especially this crazy journey. Many thanks to the expert organization of the Vivenko team and Anna Rigamonti!

  • At RCRF, we are fiercely patient-centric. From working to build and support infrastructure that benefits every rare cancer patient to ensuring individual patients receive the resources they need to thrive, we are here for every step in the journey. 💙 💚 Tissue donated through Pattern.org has helped to create over 58 research models and counting! As Jane says, “it’s a game changer.” 🙌 Join us today. Tomorrow Can't Wait. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eTZQDfrU Jane Wilkinson

    • Green graphic with headshot of Jane Wilkinson, President & CEO of CANCollaborare and RCRF Board Member, with the quote, "Creating an effective and collaborative space for patient data and patient samples is essential for making progress in rare cancer research."
    • Green graphic with RCRF logo reads, "Pattern.org allows patients to define how their tissues will be used for rare cancer research. Freeing the samples from institutions who may not be interested in that research application is a game changer."
  • Pattern.org is an initiative of RCRF and serves as a powerful patient engagement platform. 🤝 Rare cancer patients are able to opt into sharing their excess tissue with researchers to advance important research and will soon be able to place their clinical, diagnostic, and genomic data in our one-stop shop: the Rare Cancer Data Commons. We’re working to eliminate barriers in current research environments and create a better future for all rare cancer patients. Join us today. Tomorrow Can’t Wait. 💙💚

    • Orange graphic with RCRF logo that reads, “Did You Know? Rare cancer researchers across the country partner with Pattern.org for access to live tumor tissue samples and paired clinical and molecular data directly from patients.”
