About us
Research to Action (R2A) is an initiative catering for the strategic and practical needs of people trying to improve the way development research is communicated and utilised. #R2AArchive: This week we look back to a 2019 article by Ruhiya Seward and Alexandrine Pirlot de Corbion. Their article explores how privacy rights can be instrumental in addressing gender inequality. They emphasise that privacy issues—such as data protection, surveillance, and control over personal information—often disproportionately affect women, particularly in vulnerable communities. Framing privacy as a right essential for gender equality, the authors recommend policies that protect individual privacy and empower women, highlighting an opportunity for society to challenge and reduce systemic gender disparities. https://ow.ly/faat50U6Yck #GenderEquity #GenderEquality #FemaleEmpowerment #WomensRights #ResearchtoPolicy #DataProtection #Data4Dev #PrivacyRights
