Reset Summer Camp is a fully immersive, residential 4-week, clinical program, hosted on a college campus, with a fun-filled, summer camp atmosphere. Teens detox from their screen addictions and learn how to self-regulate while participating in individual/group therapy. The Life Skills program creates understanding and builds self-confidence so our campers will be able to handle their real-world responsibilities. Our staff include experienced youth-development professionals, clinical interns, registered nurses and private-practivce mental health PhDs who work daily with teens on gaming addiction and other unhealthy screen-time overuse habits.

SB-976 Protecting Our Kids from Social Media Addiction Act signed into law by Governor Newsom! This bill prohibits social media companies from providing minors, without parental consent, addictive feeds, and from sending minors notifications during certain timeframes. The bill requires platforms to provide parents with certain default measures for controlling access to features of the platform for their children. This bill was supported by California Psychological Association to combat the addictive nature of social media that impacts the physical and mental wellbeing of children and youth. Fortnite is now creating change in their game to reduce harm for young gamers. However, gaming addiction is a symptom of something emotionally deeper and often rooted in trauma. So, those who seek an addictive behaviour to avoid or cope with their emotional issue will likely look for other video games to play. It's still important to understand the risk factors for children and be diligent as caregivers for our youth.
