🔊 Changes are coming for Google My Business 🔊 This week, Google shared information about 2 major updates coming July 31st for #GoogleMyBusiness or #GoogleBusinessProfile management. 1 - Chat / Messages for GMB will be disappearing. Starting July 1st, customers will no longer be able to message or chat with a business through their profile. This feature is an easy and effective way for customers to ask simple questions, such as verifying hours or location, directly to the business. Current chats will remain open until July 15th, after which they will be deleted as well. While this removes the convenience for customers to quickly contact you, we do find businesses struggle to monitor and manage this feature well which can cause customer service/support complaints - and negative reviews! 2 - Call Tracking will no longer be a tracked metric. Calls from your Google listing, along with directions, impressions, and website clicks is one of the metrics tracked in GMB analytics. Effective July 31st this will no longer be tracked in the reporting analytics. This will not impact customer's ability to contact or call you, the data however will not be recorded for you.
