Meet Tomasz, an Embedded Software Engineer on Ring’s team in Cambridge who joined 3 years ago with the aim to tackle complex, large-scale challenges. Since then, he’s made significant contributions to improving Live View and connectivity across Ring’s devices, which helps to ensure a seamless experience for customers. “I make doorbells,” he jokes when describing his role. However, the impact of his work reaches far beyond, bringing security and peace of mind to users, including his own family and friends. For anyone considering a similar path, Tomasz highlights the unique independence and trust that define the Ring team. “You aren’t just a colleague,” he says. “You have the freedom to innovate, propose new solutions, and execute projects with full ownership". If you’re passionate about embedded software and ready to innovate, a role with Ring in Cambridge might be your perfect fit. “You’d be hard-pressed to find a group that works harder or knows how to have more than fun than aircrew members—unless you’ve met someone from Ring.” After 16 years in the United States Air Force as a C-17 loadmaster—where she managed aircraft cargo operations, led cargo teams, and operated aircraft systems—Sara joined Ring in 2018. Today, she’s a Communications and Engagement Specialist, creating content and owning leadership and employee engagement programs. “I wake up every day excited to help our company engage, recognize, support, and develop our team members while fostering a fun and inclusive environment where they can grow and thrive. And I really do emphasize the fun part! If you're not working hard and having fun, the recipe is off. I design programs and training to make it easy for leaders to bring that element of fun to their teams,” she shares. “In the aircrew world, we call those who can adapt to any situation and get along with others ‘crew chameleons,’” Sara shares, reflecting on her military experience. ”These individuals build trust, have strong communication skills, and high emotional intelligence. At Ring and Amazon, this is our ‘Earn Trust’ Leadership Principle.” While focusing on her team’s well-being, Sara is driven by Ring’s broader mission. “At Ring, we're not just troubleshooting products. We're offering our neighbors options that can enhance their daily lives. The sense of impact I get here reminds me of my time in the military. Being able to help change the way people live in their homes and keep them connected with what matters most is truly inspiring.” To those transitioning from the military to Amazon, Sara advises, “Don’t underestimate your unique experience, even if the language or terms are unfamiliar. Your mentors and champions can help translate your background and experience into something that resonates with your new colleagues. With the right support, you’ll find that your background can be a powerful asset in this new environment.” Learn how our teams build technology that becomes a part of everyday life. Jason’s journey from the United States Marine Corps to Ring showcases how military skills can translate into leadership for a tech company. At Ring, Jason leads a team of program managers, applying adaptability and risk management skills honed in the military to deliver exceptional customer service. “Leadership is a skill you develop early in the military,” Jason explains. “Similarly, as a leader in Customer Support, I am ready to lead by example, minimize risk, and adapt to changes. Leaders must do these things to Earn Trust and Deliver Results—2 of Amazon’s Leadership Principles.” After 15 years in software as a service, Jason was excited to join Ring and learn about physical devices and how they change lives. “At Ring, we prioritize the needs of our customers,” he says. “My role is to ensure customer support and customers are represented in the development and design of our Ring products. My team also makes sure that our support teams are fully prepared to address any questions or concerns customers have about our products or services.” When Jason joined Ring, he connected with his former platoon commander who guided him through the Amazon hiring process. He has since joined Warriors at Amazon, an affinity group dedicated to supporting Amazon veterans, military personnel, spouses, and transitioning service members. Jason shares his advice for service members interested in joining Amazon: “Military veterans possess valuable leadership, problem-solving, and technical skills that are highly applicable to various roles at Amazon. Candidates should learn and be curious, research roles and companies, take courses, and network with other veterans. Networking with other veterans at Amazon and highlighting your military experience will uniquely prepare candidates for success in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and throughout the hiring process.” Discover our open roles and learn how your unique skills can transition into a meaningful career at Ring: https://lnkd.in/gCxbVt-3 #Ring #MilitaryVeterans #Military #Veterans #HiringOurHeroes #AmazonHiresVeterans

Meet Surly and Lucy, the two lovable Yellow Labrador Retrievers adopted by Ross Allen. 9-year-old Surly and 7.5-year-old Lucy love to stay by his side while he works, often sleeping together on a big, double-stuffed doggie pillow. These furry coworkers have unique personalities - Surly is a musical howler, while Lucy's tail spins like a helicopter when she gets excited. Each workday, Surly and Lucy eagerly race to Ross's home office, ready to provide companionship and occasional comic relief as he tackles his work responsibilities. Ross enjoys keeping an eye on them using his Stick Up Cam Pro while they roam around the backyard chasing rabbits and squirrels.

Happy National Cat Day! 🐱 Meet Calypso (Ragdoll), Helios (Orange Tabby), and Houdini (Domestic Shorthair). They are a dynamic trio of feline siblings adopted by Irina Gilbertson. After the devastating loss of Calypso's longtime companion Moo (17-year-old Tuxedo cat), Irina and her partner knew they needed to find a way to lift her spirits. When they welcomed the energetic "Bonkers Brothers" Helios and Houdini into their home, Calypso immediately sprang back to life. Though she still maintains a healthy dose of sisterly irritation towards the rambunctious pair, it's clear she gets joy from watching their antics. Helios and Houdini, on the other hand, are the definition of chaotic energy. The two are in constant motion, parkour-ing off the walls and racing each other through every room. To keep an eye on this trio, the family has outfitted their home with an array of Ring devices, particularly the Stick Up Cam Plug-In with Pan Tilt Mount. She notes that Helios and Houdini are particularly mischievous, so the pan tilt functionality is helpful to keep an eye on them. Irina believes if her cats were in the job market that Calypso would undoubtedly be a movie star, Helios a competitive eater, and Houdini the star attraction at the local circus. For now, they're happy to keep their owners entertained and on their toes with their rambunctious nature. What’s your favorite thing about being a pet owner? 🐱 #NationalCatDay
