This holiday season, the ARG team, along with our locally-based subsidiaries—ARMStaffing, AED Energy Services, Allied Engineering and Design, Allied Resources Technical Consultants, and RTR Energy Solutions, Inc.—teamed up for a Winter Essentials Drive to support Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we were able to collect and donate a TON of essential items that will directly benefit families in need. 🧣❤️ We even had the privilege of visiting Cradles to Crayons in person to drop off the donations and learn more about their impactful mission: providing families with essentials like clothing and school supplies to help children thrive at home, in school, and at play. Job background: Client called to see if we had the capabilities/tools to inspect the ceiling of a silo, filled with material (cement clinker, above 160°F). We accomplished this task by lowering our Trimble X7 through a hatch in the ceiling. After completing multiple scans, at various elevations, the real-time scan data was utilized to locate "focus areas." When all the focus areas were located, we utilized a GoPro to capture video of said area. Deliverables for this project included a point cloud, HQ panorama images (from scanner), and video files from GoPro. #LaserScanner #3DLaserScan #Trimble #TrimbleX7

🛸 No, they're not UFOs or Santa doing a practice run—just drones doing...actually, what are they doing?   As many of us are aware, especially our fellow East Coasters, a seemingly endless swarm of mysterious #drones has been buzzing through the skies. Since mid-November, reports have poured in from all corners of the state—near the Picatinny Arsenal, a military research facility, and even over President-elect Trump’s golf course in Bedminster. Law enforcement has assured us these drones don’t pose a threat to public safety, though the allure of taking down a drone mid-flight seems to have caught the interest of some lawmakers...   Meanwhile, the FBI has been diligently sifting through over 5,000 tips, narrowing it down to a mere 100 deemed worthy of further investigation. One wonders if the remaining 4,900 tips were simply creative flight logs from overly ambitious amateur drone enthusiasts.   Clearly, any progress in solving this mystery is thanks to the tireless efforts of all those Neighborhood Watch Facebook groups. Accuracy reports (comparing LiDAR points to ground control collected with terrestrial survey) are critical to client confidence. I recently created this form in #excel that automates the process. Based on the Rock Robotics report (which is only provided when a survey deliverable is ordered). GSD has been added recently as well. The field survey and corresponding LiDAR elevation data is pasted in and Excel does the rest.
