  • What began as a small initiative by two individuals aiming to improve lives has grown into a global team of brain health champions. At Mendi (Mendi.io) , they are on a mission to bring mental well-being to the masses. Their journey started with patients using sophisticated headsets powered by sensors tracking blood flow and oxygenation levels in the brain. The results? Unquestionably positive. This sparked a bold idea: how could they make this advanced brain training accessible to everyone, at a price point that democratizes access to mental well-being? They asked ourselves a key question: Is the world ready for neurofeedback technology at home? The answers were staggering. 1 in 4 people will experience mental or neurological disorders in their lifetime. By 2030, global costs of mental illness are projected to soar to $6 trillion—more than cancer, diabetes, and respiratory diseases combined. Something had to be done. From this realization, their purpose became clear: make every brain healthier. Mendi was built to help shift the trajectory of global mental health in the right direction. #mentalhealth #brain #neurofeedbacktherapy #mendi

  • Selma, the founder of GONG Meditation & Wellness, had her first gong bath experience during a yoga retreat in Thailand before she headed off to business school. The power of the instrument captivated her, but it wasn't until she moved to London and started seeking refuge from the stresses of urban professional life that she returned to the sacred sound. After spending several years managing corporate communications, Selma decided it was finally time to do something about the stress and anxiety that affect so many lives. Since then, she has dedicated herself to introducing more people to the amazing therapeutic experience of gong baths. Her personal mission is to help individuals alleviate some of the burdens of modern life, find more space in their minds and hearts, experience less pain and tension in their bodies, and achieve greater balance in their lives overall. • Imagine a meditative state that feels like the opposite of an anxiety loop — where instead of spiraling into stress, you spiral into deep, non-addictive pleasure. Welcome to the world of Jhanas. The jhanas are altered states of consciousness that can be learned on demand with meditation practice. Rather than anxiety capturing attention and intensifying itself, jhana meditators experience a positive feedback loop between attention and pleasure. 💡 At Jhanatech they target these specific meditative states using a results-oriented approach. Their first product? A week-long meditation retreat that’s received glowing praise from tech leaders at OpenAI, DeepMind, and beyond. In just 40 hours, participants achieve states once thought to take thousands of hours of practice. This isn’t incremental change. It’s transformative healing and wellbeing, accessible faster than ever. With the convergence of neuroscience, technology, and contemplative practices, we’re positioned to scale life-changing meditation in ways never before possible. Their approach leverages data, insights from existing practitioners, and new research in contemplative neuroscience to eliminate the guesswork and make these states accessible to everyone. The opportunity to scale meditation that transforms lives is massive, and they are just getting started. • Demoralization syndrome is a mental health condition where individuals lose hope, purpose, and meaning, often arising in patients with end-stage diseases like cancer. It robs them of the inner strength to navigate life’s most challenging moments. Enter Psilocybin: A Novel Therapy This groundbreaking psychedelic, derived from specific mushrooms, offers a beacon of hope: Prodrug: Psilocybin converts into psilocin, its active form, which interacts uniquely with the brain. Mechanism: Unlike many treatments, psilocin increases dopamine (not serotonin), positively impacting morale. Proven Potential: A study by NYU Langone Health showed one dose of psilocybin delivered lasting benefits (4.5 years!) for cancer patients facing demoralization syndrome. Reset Pharmaceuticals mission is simple: to help those navigating life-threatening diagnoses reconnect with purpose. Through psilocybin-inspired therapies, they aim to reset neural pathways, restoring meaning and hope in the lives of those who need it most. #mentalhealth #consciousness #Psilocybin #sacredstartups

  • Mental health struggles are often accompanied by stigma and judgment, which can prevent people from seeking help. That’s why Humans Anonymous is building a different kind of space—an anonymous social audio platform where people with similar identities can freely share their experiences without fear. At Humans Anonymous, they are not about providing advice from life coaches or professionals—they are simply creating a safe, anonymous space for real people to connect and support each other. ⚡ Why Anonymous? - Shame and stigma often stop people from opening up. - Vulnerability can be difficult when you feel exposed. - Anonymous spaces allow for true expression and sharing without fear. Inspired by the framework of Alcoholics Anonymous, they have applied the same concept to mental health, offering audio spaces for communities like those dealing with loneliness, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It’s not about therapy—it’s about finding comfort in shared struggles. 🌟 Their Progress: - Launched Feb 2023 - #1 in the App Store for Health & Fitness - 300,000+ downloads in just 2 months Communities for LGBTQ, depression, breakups, and beyond They are creating a mission-driven platform, backed by $3.1M from investors like General Catalyst, making it possible to focus on impact rather than donations. Let’s break the stigma—one anonymous conversation at a time. 💙 #MentalHealthSupport #AnonymousSpaces #HumansAnonymous

  • At Sacred Startups, we're all about highlighting startups that embrace something sacred. First, let’s talk about mushrooms — not just any mushrooms, but the ones changing the game in mental health! 🍄Mushrooms in Outdoors: 1. They break down organic matter, feeding the soil and other life 🌿 2. Crucial to the carbon cycle, enriching soil with carbon 🌍 3. Microhabitats for insects, animals, and microorganisms 🦋 4. Symbiotic partners to trees 🌳 But now, the sacred power of psilocybin mushrooms is being rediscovered for mental health. While it may seem new, indigenous cultures and ancient civilizations have long used psychedelics like mushrooms, peyote, and ayahuasca for healing. Enter Nick Murray and his team at Wake Network, on a mission to revolutionize mental health with natural psilocybin therapies. Their goals? 🌟 💡 Transform Healthcare No more waiting until the last resort. Wake is putting wellness-first, making psychedelic therapies a front-line treatment. 🤝 Ongoing Support They’re making integration and preparation a priority for lasting, meaningful results. 🌍 Democratize Wellness Safe and effective therapies for all. Wake is committed to increasing access, especially for underrepresented communities. With backing from Mystic Ventures and Neotic Fund, Wake Network has reached Series A in just 2 years! 🚀 #pschyedelics #mushroooms #mentalhealth #entrepreneurship #sacredstartups
