Securing our first multi-million dollar grant for Saha Global, has given us the breathing room needed for our leadership team to start fine-tuning our strategy for the next 5 years. These two articles arrived in my inbox at the perfect time, re-affirming our plans to stay lean, to focus on honing our model so that it's easily replicable, to build a more robust advocacy strategy, and to get creative when planning a patient financing path for shifting to government as the payer at scale. The Water Institute At UNC’s #UNCWaterandHealth conference is full of inspiring and critical discussion, and none so for me more than this conversation around affordability and sustainability. Thanks to my copresenters, moderators and organizers! Grateful to be able to attend and share the Saha Global experience serving the last-mile.

It was an eye-opening experience to join a diverse group of stakeholders—from government, academia, civil society, and the private sector—discussing the future of water and sanitation (WASH) under the theme: "Looking Back on SDG Six Implementation in Ghana: Progress, Challenges, and Way Forward." Key takeaways: 💵 For real change, we need investment in services, not programs - Sid Ravinutala 🌍 Funding for grassroots organization and for the full wellbeing of women and girls is critical - Tsehaitu "Tubi" Retta ⚡ We need to match a respect for community knowledge with professional training - Toyin Saraki A pivotal change in Saha Global's model over the past 2 years has been professionalizing the role of our women water entrepreneurs so that we can offer a reliable, consistent, water service to the hardest-to-reach villages for the long-term. Investing in our entrepreneurs paired with reducing the burden of water collection for women and girls, leads to higher clean water consumption in our partner communities and better health outcomes. AND, actual funding is required to make that investment! Grateful for partners like Cartier Philanthropy who get it! Super excited to chat climate change and water access next week with Susan Davis and Andrea Johnson for this TheSidebar event during UNGA/Climate week in NYC. Droughts and water scarcity affect more and more of Saha Global’s partner communities each year. Since the people we aim to serve aren’t able to attend events like these, we’re doing our best to shine a spotlight on the challenges they’re facing and share some of the climate resiliencely work we’re taking on together.
