Linking warriors to better mental wellness using an open water experience.
About us
Our warriors often haven't taken advantage of available wellness resources to help transition through previous challenging experiences and environments . Open water exposure with others having shared experiences, helps break down barriers & stigmas linked with mental wellness counseling to begin to heal PTSD and other issues related to warrior life. We take veterans fishing off the Florida coast in the Gulf of Mexico. We have a counselor on board each trip & and offer ongoing care to those who choose to continue their mental wellness journey. We see a future where mental wellness counseling is an essential, accessible tool to help our warriors cope with past experiences; ultimately creating mentally resilient veterans fully participating in their lives, and the lives of their families and friends. 1. We accept are warriors where they are on their mental wellness journey. 2. We provide best in class experiences. 3. We value our partners. 4. We are always available to our warrior community.

Building Great Teams! Recently, we had the honor of meeting with leadership from Penn State University's School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Behrend Campus in Erie, PA. We are thrilled to announce that Saltwater Warriors has forged a strategic partnership with Penn State University . This collaboration marks a significant step towards scientifically validating our unique approach to using marine environments, or 'blue space,' in promoting mental health and rehabilitation. Under this exciting new partnership, researchers from PSU-Behrend will undertake comprehensive studies to assess the effectiveness of marine settings in enhancing mental well-being, specifically among our nation's veterans. This project aims to provide a robust data-driven foundation for the therapeutic practices implemented by Saltwater Warriors. Our goal is to substantiate through rigorous academic research the psychological impacts of these marine environments and refine our programs to maximize their efficacy. This ensures that the mental health benefits are not only substantial but also tailored to meet the needs of those who have dedicated their lives to serving our country. Our mission at Saltwater Warriors has always been centered around the well-being of our nation’s veterans. Partnering with an esteemed institution like Penn State will enhance our ability to serve and support our heroes with evidence-based practices that honor their service and sacrifices."

This #WarriorWednesday, we honor Lt. Col. Sally Ann Falco, who joined the Marine Corps at just 17 and went on to serve 34 years with distinction. From balancing single motherhood with a global career to breaking barriers as one of the first women in Marine combat training, she has shown extraordinary dedication. We honor Lt. Col. Falco’s extraordinary legacy and thank her for her unwavering dedication to our nation. Semper Fi!
