Happy #FeatureFriday ! As we continue to observe Native American Heritage month, our resource spotlight includes an Indigenous Land map for you to use and learn which Indigenous tribes occupied the land you’re living on. You may have seen land acknowledgments made before speeches, or perhaps you’ve seen land acknowledgments online. Land acknowledgments honor Indigenous peoples, recognize their connection to the land, and raise awareness of colonial history and ongoing injustices. Please check out https://native-land.ca for a beautifully compiled map #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #indigenous #MichiganNatives

National Rural Health Day aims to raise awareness of and serve as a reminder of the disparities in access to healthcare services. This can include limited availability of medical professionals, specialized care, and mental health resources. People in rural areas often struggle with higher rates of chronic illness, poverty, and social isolation. This day emphasizes the need for improved healthcare infrastructure and outreach efforts to ensure that rural populations receive the care they deserve. One of the most pressing areas of concern is the availability of mental healthcare. Mental health conditions in rural areas are often under diagnosed and untreated due to stigma, geographic isolation, and a lack of mental health professionals. Other lifestyle challenges often include limited access to affordable and reliable internet (nearly 30% of people) and lack of adequate insurance for care. ⬇️ Ending the stigma is part of the solution: ✅ Raise awareness that mental illness is real and valid ✅ Normalize conversations around mental illness ✅ Recognize that sharing experiences is a first step for people to seek help ✅ Explore available resources at ruralminds.org and mhanational.org/get-help (Sources: mhanational.org; ruralminds.org) #NationalRuralHealthDay #RuralHealthDay #RuralMentalHealthcare

Reminder: Healing isn’t a race; it’s a journey. You can’t exhaust yourself into mental peace or growth. Remember, rest is just as important as effort. Let’s embrace the process, allow ourselves grace, and know that it's okay to take it one day at a time. Let’s let go of exhaustion as a status symbol and productivity as self-worth ♥️ #MentalHealthAwareness #SelfCare #TipTuesday

Take a moment today to find a comfortable, quiet place where you can relax without distractions. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and allow yourself to let go of any tension. This time is for you. 🧘🏻 After you've finished, gently wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch if it feels good, and slowly open your eyes. You've created a moment of peace that you can return to whenever you need it. Thank you for taking this time for yourself. You are enough, and you can carry this calm with you throughout the season. ✨ #MindfulMonday #Meditation #5minuteMeditation #HolidayStress
