  • In collaboration with the American University in Cairo (AUC) and UNICEF, a comprehensive module was developed years ago to support social workers in the field of child protection. This year, with generous support from the Sawiris Foundation, Samusocial International Égypte has successfully revived this module, equipping its social workers and partners with this valuable knowledge. Dedicated volunteer trainers from AUC are conducting the training sessions. As the first week of training concludes, we look forward to two more weeks spread over the coming months. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners: AUC, UNICEF, and the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development. @aucegypt @unicefegypt Sawiris Foundation for Social Development

  • RATP organized a visit to the third line of the Cairo Metro for caregivers and social workers from partner shelters working with Samusocial International Egypt, which supports children at risk. The program included a tour of the station, where participants learned about station operations, emergency protocols, and ticketing procedures. The tour was from Attaba station to the Adly Mansour station, where they explored potential job opportunities arising from the "Bridges of Opportunities" project. This training represents the second phase of the project for children at risk in shelters, aged 14 to 18 years. The training covered design, cutting, and sewing using machines, resulting in creative practical outputs in fashion. • “Art is the most effective mode of communication that exists,” said John Dewey, the renowned philosopher, psychologist, and educational reformer. At Samusocial International, we believe that the arts and sports play a vital role in helping children and youth at risk on their journey toward social reintegration. These activities provide essential foundation for self-expression and serve as crucial tool for psychosocial support. This week, we celebrated our 6th Forum of Performing Arts for Children at Risk on International Peace Day, honored by the presence of His Excellency Eric Chevallier, the French Ambassador to Egypt. The event integrated both sports—an ongoing activity for the children provided by Samusocial International Egypt (SSIEG)—and the arts. Under the guidance of selected professional trainers, the participants showcased their fitness and acting skills in five diverse performances, which included acting, improvisation, singing, dancing, acrobatics, and circus skills. The participating partner shelters were Kasserat, Agouza, Caritas, and Nour El-Hayat. Each year, we see remarkable improvement in the children’s performances, and even those taking the stage for the first time impressed us all. Additionally, participating shelters had the opportunity to sell their handmade products, further highlighting the talents within our community. Samusocial International Egypt would like to express sincere gratitude to our partners for their support and contributions in making this heartfelt event possible: the European Union, the French Development Agency, the French Embassy, the Netherlands Embassy, the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, the Artists Spring Initiative, and the Ministry of Social Solidarity. A special thanks goes to the French Cultural Center for providing the theater space for the performances and training days, along with their incredible, supportive staff. We also extend our appreciation to all the artists and technicians who contributed to the day’s success. #childrenatrisk #socialreintegration #worldpeaceday #arts #sports
