A new method from Andrew C Adey's lab, #sciMETv3, creates atlas-sized single cell datasets (140,000+ cells!) in a single experiment by reducing labor-intensive workflows and minimizing expensive reagents. The team used sciMETv3 to profile single cell DNA methylation from human cortex, and furthermore, extended their method to include ATAC-seq to simultaneously profile methylation and chromatin accessibility from the same cells.
