Prior to this, Chris spent the first twelve years of his professional career building and developing his direct marketing business where he ran nine offices across the country with over 100 employees representing several Fortune 500 companies in the promotional retail space.   In addition to his work at Scribe, Chris is also a co-owner of an exterior cleaning company. With that, he understands what the typical small business owner and home service provider goes through on a day to day basis when it comes to not only running a business but also the marketing efforts behind a growing business. The opportunity presented itself in the handwritten letter space where Scribe became the first to offer white glove, full service marketing services to the handwriting industry. The space was in dire need of marketing strategy and direction. To go back to the beginning of his journey, from the age of 12, James was off to the races, creating a successful lawn care business he ran for six years. After attending the entrepreneurship program at the University of St. Thomas, James decided to drop out his junior year. With $20 in his pocket, he then grew his second company in the home service space, with a goal to sell it in three years after fully scaling and automating the company. At the age of 24, he sold his first “adult” company, then went on to consult and run advertising for companies across all digital platforms while aligning on who new business model could be created to really make and impact on the marketing spaces. While doing so James decided to go all in and create Scribe, bridging the gap between intimate communication and technology, in a digitally saturated world. After building Scribe, James plan to start a non profit to foster entrepreneurship in intercity areas, specifically where one parent households are the norm, and mentorship is needed!
