Check out this new video from former NFL player Jason Kelce, who spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles and started an apparel company a few years ago in an effort to raise money for children in that city. But he had no idea how garments were made and wanted a USA supply chain – but he didn’t know where to start. So he reached out to American Giant founder & CEO Bayard Winthrop, who invited him to see every step in the process – from dirt to shirt. Kelce was able to see the entire process first-hand with Winthrop – from the cotton fields of Georgia to the finished product. Watch this video as he follows a single piece of cotton on its journey: being harvested from the field, processed at the gin mill, spun into yarn, knitted into fabric, cut, sewn and finished – all here in America. “The amount of work that goes into making a single piece of clothing is mind-blowing, and getting to meet the people behind every step was incredible,” Kelce said. “This isn't just about making clothes – it's about American craftsmanship and the communities that keep these traditions alive. From the farmers in Georgia to the textile workers in North Carolina, every person I met takes serious pride in what they do.” Kelce visited Bissette Farms, ENFIELD COTTON GIN INC, Parkdale Mills, Inc. and Eagle Sportswear Inc. Shout out to Parkdale EVP Davis Warlick for showing him around their W. Duke Kimbrell highly automated yarn-spinning facility in #Gaffney, S.C.
