Family is an ever-growing system. It includes everything from distant cousins being born to new friends, partners, and even pets! As much as we remind our clients about their support systems, have you checked in with yours recently? Sometimes we need reminders, too! Why not send a text to someone in your family who you haven’t spoken to in a while?

We did a deep dive into each generation and their relationship with alcohol. Learning more about your clients’ upbringing with alcohol can really help when approaching treatment plans with them. Feel free to use this resource for yourself and your staff, or share it with your clients so they can gain some insight, too. https://lnkd.in/eNnxh-Kv

A return to use is complex and can happen to anyone. Our clients may often feel like returning to use is a failure, or even that it’s unavoidable. The more we educate them on the causes of relapse, the more we can help them continue their healing journey. This list is just a few of the signs we like to share with our clients so they can better spot when someone might be at risk of returning to use. - Reminiscing about past substance or alcohol use - Dealing with higher stress than usual - Withdrawing from friends and loved ones - Showing increased signs of depression or anxiety - Becoming defensive or dismissive about current behaviors - Revisiting people or places associated with past substance or alcohol use

Our day treatment program is a comprehensive option that is especially beneficial for individuals who need more than a short residential stay, which is the majority of our patients. The day treatment program is also beneficial for patients who have completed inpatient residential treatment and want to continue treatment in an environment that provides structured, high-level care. You can learn more about this program at the link below or by giving us a call anytime at 800-543-9905. https://lnkd.in/e8ZV8HN8

Recovery is so often focused on the individual, but substance and alcohol use is like a ripple. It hits those closest to the person managing a substance use or alcohol use disorder, too. Addressing this and healing those relationships is just as important to the recovery journey as any other component. Talk with your clients about their relationships and connect them to resources to help heal these bridges. Even just small steps can make a big difference.
