This past weekend, SERVPRO of South Columbus & SERVPRO of Northeast Columbus participated in WCMH-TV, NBC4, nbc4i.com Firefighters for Kids event, supporting local firefighters in their efforts to collect toys and donations for children in the community. As a sponsor, we were proud to help make this event possible, including an opportunity for a commercial with our very own president, Ken Parker, and an exclusive interview with Steele Gaumer & Bess Eley on how we support our firefighters and community. We were happy to be present last Saturday morning with Ronnie Pack, Kevin Foley & Jane Rogaliner to help unload toys and support the day of events. Our involvement reflects our ongoing effort to support meaningful initiatives in the areas we serve. It was a great opportunity to contribute and collaborate with such a dedicated team to benefit the community.

Our fire team is on the job! After a wall demo revealed unexpected lead paint, they’re tackling a thorough post-construction cleanup to ensure a safe and clean environment for our customer. With expertise and attention to detail, they’re taking on every challenge—leaving no dust behind!

This week was all about hands-on training and mastering the skills that keep us a trusted leader in restoration. To prepare our new hires, we constructed two fully detailed rooms—complete with drywall, baseboards, carpet, caulk, paint, and LVP flooring. Then, we simulated real-life water damage by flooding the rooms, giving our team the chance to learn, step-by-step, how to expertly mitigate each area according to SERVPRO’s high standards. This immersive training is essential to ensure our team can respond with skill and confidence to real-world disasters. By practicing in a controlled environment, our new hires gain a deeper understanding of moisture detection, structural drying, and the meticulous processes involved in restoring materials and preventing long-term damage. Led by industry experts Adam Hughes from our Licking County office and Chad Moore from our South location, the training emphasizes precision and quality, ensuring that when a real emergency strikes, we’re ready to bring clients the highest level of service and peace of mind.

Our teams in Florida are going beyond restoration efforts. When a large tree fell and blocked a major road, Nick Lupo didn’t hesitate—he grabbed a chainsaw from his truck and with help from Jose, cleared the way for local traffic.
