At Open Door Arts (ODA), a Seven Hills Foundation affiliate, we believe our shared cultural community is strengthened when it represents, includes, and engages all people. That’s why we work annually with hundreds of students, teaching artists, educators and leaders of cultural organizations through innovative and inclusive programming, training, events, and exhibits designed to improve access, expand participation, challenge the status quo, and share practices to ensure equitable representation of people with disabilities in the arts. Kathleen Jordan joined the Seven Hills Foundation more than two decades ago, when she was hired to manage the nonprofit’s acquisition of a pediatric skilled nursing facility in Groton. She’d heard of Seven Hills; she had lived in Worcester and was vaguely aware of what the Worcester-based nonprofit did. But as she got into her job and saw the organization intimately with her own eyes, she knew it was special.“I just found myself drawn even more deeply to working with individuals who are invisible or who, frankly, the public would like to see remain invisible,” Jordan said. https://lnkd.in/gtQj-qaf

Congratulations to Marissa Ruff, Vice President of Seven Hills Rhode Island, on being recognized by Women We Admire as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Providence in 2024. Marissa's work to support the adults and children of Rhode Island with disabilities or life challenges is remarkable.

Congresswoman Lori Trahan visited Seven Hills Pediatric Center on Monday. She had a tour and the opportunity to meet some of the children that reside at the Center. In addition to meeting with Kathee Jordan, President and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation, and Bill Stock, VP of Government and Community Relations, she also had the chance to interact with Joe Allred, Sr. VP of Children’s Services and Holly Jarek, Interim Administrator, as well as other members of the pediatric center’s staff.  The visit gave those working at SHPC to thank the Congresswoman for all her support in Medicaid funding. During the visit it was noted that staffing was at its highest level in many years primarily because of that support.

This incredible partnership is bringing a talented new workforce to support human services at Seven Hills Foundation and Open Sky Community Services Read more about this inclusive initiative, which provides intensive training and support to an enthusiastic talent pool.

Because of heavy rain and course conditions, the Worcester Country Club tournament committee has postponed the Lori Lajoie Golf Tournament to Monday, August 26th. The 49th consecutive Lori Lajoie Tournament will continue to make an impact on our community as the tradition continues! You’re invited to kick off Pride Month in style with Gender Wellness Initiative (GWI), a program of Seven Hills Behavioral Health, as we welcome local drag performers Candace Persuasian, Lana Backwards, and Daishadore Famouz to share with us about their lived experiences and expertise in the area of drag performance. This event is intended to raise awareness about the significance of drag as a form of art, self-expression, community, and healing, while also discussing the importance and impact of recent efforts to ban and politicize drag.
