Sidley welcomes Sarah Carlson, who has joined as a partner in the firm’s Litigation practice in San Diego. She will lead our Consumer Product Safety Regulatory practice and will be an integral member of Sidley’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice. Ms. Carlson represents major manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers of consumer products in regulatory matters before the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). She skillfully guides clients on managing product risk across a variety of industries. Ms. Carlson’s experience extends to pre-market testing requirements, regulatory reporting, product recalls — both defending against and navigating them — civil penalty investigations, and the development and implementation of robust safety and compliance programs. Sidley has been honored as a 2024 Compliance “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360. Sidley represented Sports Data Labs (SDL), a leading provider of technologies for athletes to collect, control, and monetize their personal data, in its landmark partnership with FIFPRO, the global players union for professional football. The 10-year exclusive deal will enable SDL to offer its athlete performance platform, under the FIFPRO Technologies brand, to more than 66,000 players worldwide, giving them access to a range of services and opportunities to optimize their performance, health, and data rights.
