While empirical research on AI and work is growing, the technology’s potential impacts on workers remain largely uncertain. AI is reshaping not only the content of jobs—by automating certain tasks—but also the context in which work occurs. This includes hiring, management, monitoring, and the overall worker experience.
Throughout 2023 and 2024, we’ve engaged with our team, partners, and peers to explore a critical question: How should education and workforce development philanthropy adapt in response to these changes?
We’re thrilled to continue this important conversation into 2025, starting with an upcoming in-person meeting hosted by the New York City Workforce Funders Collaborative: Navigating AI’s Workforce Revolution: A Call for New Philanthropic Strategies next Tuesday, January 14th.
Join Siegel team members Joshua Elder and Owen Davis, alongside colleagues from Decoded Futures, FutureFit AI, DEUTSCHE BANK AMERICAS FOUNDATION and Capital One, as they explore the impact of AI on workers, assess the effectiveness of current education and training models, and discuss how grantees and funders can drive innovation and experimentation to address these evolving challenges.
