  • Arm has traditionally been known for leadership in compute architectures and platforms in the mobile segment. However, Arm is now seeing significant growth in the data center space. What's driving that growth for Arm in data center space? Ami Badani (Chief Marketing Officer at Arm) elaborated on this in this short clip and shared a very interesting perspective on how Arm is finding its sweet spot in the data center space due to AI's unique requirements. AI applications in data centers require pairing the CPU with AI accelerators. Arm is partnering with many large companies to provide CPU host compute architectures for such use cases. Nvidia Grace-Blackwell is one key example of an Arm-based CPU architecture paired with an AI accelerator. Please watch the full interview of Ami at: https://lnkd.in/dgUiz8MW

  • What's the end-user value of WiFi-7? Why should everyday users upgrade their devices because they have WiFi-6 but not WiFi-7? Vijay Nagarajan (VP @ Broadcom) elaborated on this in this short clip. Vijay explains that the generational nomenclature in WiFi technology (i.e., WiFi-6, WiFi-5, etc.) has made it easier to explain the significance of generational shifts in the technology to end users in the first place. In WiFi-7, the 6GHz spectrum is becoming mainstream, providing users with clean frequency channels leading to high capacity and low latency links. As a result, WiFi-7 will lead to a better user experience in many applications and use cases. Our discussion with Anand covered insights on cybersecurity challenges for OT and AI systems and the innovations that will address those challenges. Following are the brief highlights of the discussion: (1) Anand provided a comprehensive overview of how OT differs from traditional IT systems, the reasons for trends showing increased cyber attacks on OT systems, and approaches to securing these systems. (2) Anand shared Palo Alto Networks' unique approach to securing AI systems and the corporate use of AI. We also discussed the flip side of how AI will improve cyber security.  (3) Anand shared his insightful perspective on the future of network security in light of the fast-changing technology landscape globally due to advancements happening in AI, quantum, and other new technologies. (4) We concluded the discussion with Anand's excellent leadership advice for professionals in the early stages of their careers. #networksecurity #cybersecurity #ai #siliconvalleytechtalks

  • How will the developers benefit from accessing certain capabilities in the 5G network through APIs? Which new use cases will emerge, and how will the Telecom Industry create new value for the ecosystem? Joakim Sorelius elaborated on this question in the short clip below. Joakim is Vice President and Head of the Global Network Platform at Ericsson. Some major mobile network operators, Ericsson and Vonage have started an initiative where these companies are forming a venture to make network APIs available to developers. Joakim is spearheading this initiative from Ericsson's side. Joakim explained that the total addressable market for such network capabilities will be around $10B to $20B by 2030. Three to four significant 5G network capabilities categories stand out for API access and creating unique value: (1) Quality of Service, (2) Identity & Security, and (3) Location. Developers can access these categories through APIs on a standalone basis or access a combination of these categories simultaneously, depending on the use cases for their applications. For example, access to the Identity and location categories can be used for fraud detection applications. Similarly, Joakim shared examples of use cases related to quality of service. We concluded the discussion with Raghib's awesome advice for young professionals on approaching career advancement.  #acceleratedinfrastructureforai #marvell #ai #semiconductor #innovations

  • Identity & Access Management (IAM) Technologies - The Industry Landscape and Innovations: We enjoyed interviewing Eleanor Hayes Meritt in the latest Silicon Valley Tech Talks show. Eleanor is the senior vice president of Oracle, leading the IAM product portfolio at Oracle. Her team is also responsible for Fusion Middleware and Database support for on-premises scenarios. Eleanor has worked at Oracle for almost three decades now. She is a seasoned leader in Silicon Valley, respected for her knowledge of various technologies needed for digital transformation, including cloud and AI.  In this insightful discussion, we covered the following topics: (1) Eleanor explained how IAM is central to the technology ecosystem and the core of user experience. Single sign-on and multi-factor authentification (MFA) are standard IAM technologies. We talked about Oracle's product offerings for IAM. (2) While there is strong momentum toward cloud migrations, there are use cases in which customers desire to run their workloads on-premises rather than migrate to the cloud. We learned about some of the key examples. (3) Eleanor shared her perspective on new trends in the tech industry, especially AI. (4) Eleanor shared her leadership advice for young professionals based on her experiences and learnings.

  • Meta’s Silicon Innovations for AI: We had the pleasure of interviewing Prahlad Venkatapuram during the latest Silicon Valley Tech Talks episode. We covered the following additional topics: (1) Trends in Silicon Architectures like X86 and RISC-V and applications toward AI (2) New upcoming innovations in Silicon manufacturing and packaging (3) Power efficiency aspects for compute products in AI data centers Prahlad and the rest of the Infra leadership have built an industry-class engineering team at Meta. We also discussed their approach to hiring and sustaining Silicon/Hardware talent in a software-focused company.

  • Networks for AI: Mobile networks need a "ground-up" approach to supporting AI because AI traffic has different requirements than traditional internet traffic. In this short slip, Orange Business's Chief Product & Marketing Officer, Usman Javaid, called this a critical pillar of Orange Business’s 6G strategy. Usman explained how AI traffic differs from traditional data traffic and why mobile networks need to rethink their network buildout approaches to address AI needs. There is a lot of talk about "AI for Networks" but not much about "Networks for AI." He identified edge use cases as critical for AI inference and a sweet spot for mobile networks to monetize edge capabilities. Please watch the full interview with Usman at https://lnkd.in/ezrNxfvJ
