What's the end-user value of WiFi-7? Why should everyday users upgrade their devices because they have WiFi-6 but not WiFi-7? Vijay Nagarajan (VP @ Broadcom) elaborated on this in this short clip. Vijay explains that the generational nomenclature in WiFi technology (i.e., WiFi-6, WiFi-5, etc.) has made it easier to explain the significance of generational shifts in the technology to end users in the first place. In WiFi-7, the 6GHz spectrum is becoming mainstream, providing users with clean frequency channels leading to high capacity and low latency links. As a result, WiFi-7 will lead to a better user experience in many applications and use cases. Please watch the full interview of Vijay at this link: https://lnkd.in/guAeCzV9

How will the developers benefit from accessing certain capabilities in the 5G network through APIs? Which new use cases will emerge, and how will the Telecom Industry create new value for the ecosystem? Joakim Sorelius elaborated on this question in the short clip below. Joakim is Vice President and Head of the Global Network Platform at Ericsson. Some major mobile network operators, Ericsson and Vonage have started an initiative where these companies are forming a venture to make network APIs available to developers. Joakim is spearheading this initiative from Ericsson's side. Joakim explained that the total addressable market for such network capabilities will be around $10B to $20B by 2030. Three to four significant 5G network capabilities categories stand out for API access and creating unique value: (1) Quality of Service, (2) Identity & Security, and (3) Location. Developers can access these categories through APIs on a standalone basis or access a combination of these categories simultaneously, depending on the use cases for their applications. For example, access to the Identity and location categories can be used for fraud detection applications. Similarly, Joakim shared examples of use cases related to quality of service.
