Dr. Jonas Hoffmann and Ashrakat Hamed from our partner GreenDelta GmbH are representing SITOLUB and their sustainability assessment approach at the 5th Stakeholder SSbD Workshop, starting today until tomorrow. The Joint Research Centre (JRC) invited our partner to highlight Step 4 and Step 5, focusing on the relevance and methodology for conducting a cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). 🍃 For the environmental assessment (Step 4), the focus will be on issues of SSbD with low TRL innovations. For Step 5, the socioeconomic assessment, JRC has specifically requested attention to conducting social LCA with #openLCA and the assessment of Critical Raw Materials (CRM). Tekniker, our partner, is also joining the discussion panel. They will represent the GreenSME Sustainability Assessment Tool from the greenSMEhub project. Our partner i-TRIBOMAT: The European Tribology Centre developed the Tribology Universe, an online platform that will integrate the modelling tools developed in the SITOLUB project. Currently, there are 5 apps available at the portal. Today we present to you "Journal Bearing App". 👨🔬What does this app do? ✅Determine the lubrication regime your bearing operates: full film, mixed, or boundary lubrication. ✅Check the impact of your surface finish on the operation of the bearing. ✅ Predict the losses of your journal bearings. This easy-to-use online app provides a straightforward way to include the "Usage Phase" in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of your product. No additional software or computing capacity is required.
