https://lnkd.in/edFTAFuv With thanks to the Conscious Leadership Group, this simple post is a life-changer. Learning how to separate "facts" from "story" is an essential leadership AND life skill. The post and graphic illustrates the powerful difference between facts and story. One simple illustration: Fact: Your coworker interrupts you in a meeting. Story: They don’t respect your opinion. Facts don't lead to drama... stories do. A leader's role is to: 1. "Learn to separate the facts —the things a video camera would see—from the stories you’re telling yourself about those facts." 2. "Create a culture where both facts and stories (opinions, judgments, beliefs) are welcome." What facts matter to you and your teams? What stories are you making up about those facts that are causing distress? Want a partner to help you surface them? https://lnkd.in/gECPz6QK Today we share a post by our colleague, Nick Petrie who discusses, from their research, one of the most common causes of burnout which is bad fit for a role or culture. Nick highlights the particularly toxic cocktail of a strong work ethic and poor role or culture fit. Their research found that due to a strong work ethic, people tended to stay in their jobs or organizations longer than was healthy for them physically, emotionally and relationally. "People tend to overestimate the risk of making a change and underestimate the risk of staying in an ill-fitting role." #burnout #culture #highachievers #poorjobfit #wellbeing

https://lnkd.in/eAtgQMYZ With thanks to @Lisa Hompe MSOD, BSN, ACC for bringing this important interview to us on "Humanizing the Workplace: a healing approach to leadership development." This link takes you to an interview with Adam Rosendahl of Late Nite Art and Amy Elizabeth Fox of Mobius Executive Leadership. We found this quote by Adam Rosendahl of particular relevance: "When we show people a different way of doing business, that. is more from the heart, they will choose that every single time." Leaders are looking for a place of safety where they will not be judged and can show their human-ness; leaders must heal first before they can lead healthy, sustainable change where ALL flourish; leaders don't want to suffer in silence. SixSEED Partners distinguishes our work by integrating head, heart and hands. We teach evidence-based theories; we integrate tools that allow all of us to connect on a heart-space and human basis; and we use our hands to take action that is purposeful and not based in fear or obligation. In keeping with a focus on the Inner Development Goals, this podcast and approach supports Being - Relationship to Self and Relating-- Caring for others and the world. Would you like to humanize your workplace where you integrate wellbeing and excellence? https://lnkd.in/ewZSKyVB Today we bring back our focus on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and the Inner Development Goals. Our Chief Learning Officer, W. Cliff Kayser, III, recently attended an IDG Ambassador Program where he participated in the 1st Cohort of United Nations Inner Development Goals Ambassador Programme. At this watershed moment in our country, reminding ourselves of these leadership development goals that begin with our own development is essential. The theme of the October IDG Summit was "From inner growth to outer change." We cannot have one without the other in a way that is life-giving for all-- people, places, planet. In subsequent posts, we will highlight one of the framework dimensions. Today we highlight: BEING: Relationship to Self and "Integrity and Authenticity:" "A commitment and ability to act with sincerity, honesty and integrity." How are you demonstrating integrity and authenticity in your leadership? Ask your team what they see and also ask them what you might do differently to strengthen your demonstration of the same! Want support in doing this? Contact us at https://lnkd.in/ee7QBCTN. #innerdevelopmentgoals #unitednations #leadershipdevelopment #sustainablechange #cliffkayser #integrity

https://lnkd.in/egx339RE With thanks to Renee Moorefield for this sensitive post on how best to support your teams as they deal with the election results. As she so wisely states, before you support your team, you must center and ground yourself. Are you someone who has recognized the power of a gratitude practice? Five minutes of meditation? Positive affirmations? A hug? DO IT NOW! In addition to those measures mentioned for your teams, take brief moments throughout your day to connect to what matters to you now: gratitude that your body and senses are functioning as they are; that you have people around you who love you and you love; go to a really old building or tree and realize that that building and tree are still standing and have witnessed much in the course of their lives. Perspective is everything... this too shall pass, as will we....... This morning, I got myself out of bed in time to drive the 15 minutes to one of my favorite spots: the Mirasado Estuary in Setúbal. I watched the colors change in the sky; observed reflections in the water; and watched the sun rise as it does every day. Presence and Gratitude put our bodies in a place of peace.. Our world needs more of us to be in that place, so that we can reach out to our fellow human beings with compassion and courage, and not anger and fear. What did you do this morning to center? Please share! #reneemoorefield #wellbeing #stress #teamdevelopment

https://lnkd.in/ePAirMF3 This post by The Conscious Leadership Group provides a simple and powerful tool that has endured through the years: Are you "above or below the line?" At SixSEED Partners, we have worked with numerous leaders and their teams on applying this framework with great success. It has become part of their culture to simply say to each other: "Where are you? Are you ATL or BTL?" That simple question helps them shift from a victim, blaming mentality to a grounded, purpose-driven approach much more likely to result in sustainable results. The goal of this tool is not that you will always be above the line. It is, in any given moment, to recognize where you're coming from, allow self-compassion, and then choose a way forward. And while we are not here to talk politics, this approach works powerfully for dealing with our emotions that may be circulating as a result of the election. Want to learn more? https://lnkd.in/eADD6-sw With thanks to our colleague, Tracy Duberman PhD, MPH, FACHE, Founder, President and CEO for The Leadership Development Group, for pointing out this important Harvard Business Review article that speaks to how to manage your team in the wake of waiting for the election results or after receiving the results. At SixSEED Partners, we often teach our clients the intricacies of both/and -- polarity thinking to better manage complex situations. Rebecca Knight speaks to the tension of providing support, while also challenging your teams to focus on the work at hand and progress. https://lnkd.in/eiXFuhAA With thanks to our colleague, Ann Deaton, here is a "light" post about Halloween and managing our fears. Around the globe there is pervasive anxiety and fear right now. Wars, elections, inflation, and more seem to have that impact on us. Ann shares this post by Dr. Kemia Saraf, on ways you can short circuit your fear and shift to more healthy, if not "ghoulish" behaviors! #wellbeing #anndeaton #drkemiasaraf #fear #anxiety #selfdevelopment
