We are pleased to invite you to attend our first "Dine & Learn" event: Rise up to live longer: The impact of body flexibility on longevity 06 Dec 2024, 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm Bold at Work, 319 Jurong East Street 31 #01-58 About the event: Dr. Claudio Gil Araujo is visiting us from Brazil, and we are happy to invite you to join us on a casual "Dine & Learn" event, organized by the Singaporean Society of Lifestyle Medicine (SGLM), to hear more about his work. His research focuses on physical fitness assessments and their implications for health and longevity. Notably, he developed the Sitting-Rising Test (SRT), a simple method to evaluate musculoskeletal fitness, which has been shown to predict all-cause mortality risk. In addition to the SRT, Dr. Araújo has investigated the association between balance and mortality. His research demonstrated that the inability to stand on one leg for 10 seconds in mid to later life is linked to a near doubling of the risk of death from any cause within the next decade. Bonus: Learn his 5-minute protocol for assessing non-aerobic and aerobic fitness applied to Lifestyle Medicine practice! How it works: This is a free event, open to all professionals interested in physical health. You may order delicious plant-based food and drinks from WellSmoocht to be consumed during or after the event (at your own cost). Places are limited. Please RSVP on our website to reserve your seat!! https://lnkd.in/gjGKxj_i
